Hello. I just want to say Thank you to you and your listeners; My Husband Rob was adopted by a woman from Montana and caring people from Columbia Missouri They made his day with notes and cards. He could not believe that people back home care as much as they do. It means so much for these soldiers to know that everyone back home continues to show them love and support. This is his third deployment to Iraq, and to know that people cares about them made their life less hard, Please keep praying for the troops to come home safe. I just want to tell you for a wife with 2 little kids are not easy but to know that, they are people that really care about the soldiers and their families is a Bless for us. I just wanted to say Thank you to all of you.
    Monica Haaf

What a fantastic program!!! I am a proud mother of two soldiers who will be deployed to Iraq later this year, second tour for my son and first for my daughter-in-law. I know how important it was for my son to hear from others while serving the first tour and this program offers a great way to help. Thanks so much from my heart. They are our true heroes and sacrifice so much. I encourage everyone to embrace this opportunity to reciprocate and show appreciation for their service. I plan to do my part and encourage others to do so as well. Thanks again!!!

I was driving to work one morning in November complaining about work and school when I heard that Clear-99 was having an adopt a solider program. As soon as I got to work I started thinking about all the different ideas and everyone at my work that would donate. Considering I am complaining about stuff that they soldiers do not get to enjoy but instead are fighting for our freedom to complain. After two weeks I had a 70lb box full of x-box games, candy, socks, batteries and everything else I could think of. I got to my job to donate for shipping and shipped everything on December 3rd to make sure he (James B) had the most wonderful Christmas one could have knowing he is over there fighting for us and our families. Now February 6th and no response and this was my suggestion that everyone donated money and time especially around Christmas and no response I feel responsible in making sure he received our package. I understand it might take a while or he might have got deployed but as Lori in Jefferson City I am just asking for whoever submitted his name call me and just let me know he received it so I can let me co-workers know. I also do not need to know any personal information just a voicemail or email saying yes he (James B) received it.

Thank you for giving us an opportunity to help our soldiers and even though I am a non-military family I wanted to do my part and show that there are people who do care and do believe in them. Thanks again and God Bless.

Please call if you submitted Mr. James B.

I just wanted to let you know that my 4th grade class at McIntire Elementary adopted a solider this year for our class project. The kids were so excited to collect items and make cards and letters. For Valentines Day, a 2nd grade class joined us and sent valentines. What a great way to stay connected to those who play such a vital role in our safety and freedom!! Thank you!

  5. Helen Humphreys Says:

This is a great program! Thanks for doing this. I’m a nineteen-year old girl from Columbia and last month I adopted John W. who is serving in Iraq right now. I sent him a package and he emailed me back. We have become pen pals. He has an identical twin brother who is also in the army. I like to write poetry and a couple of days ago I wrote this poem that I am going to send to him, and I wanted to share it.

    CHEER ON THE SOLDIER!

Cheer on the soldier! For his responsibility is great.
At every turn he knows not his fate.
From the blazing sun to the freezing cold,
His trials are numerous and untold.

Cheer on the soldier! Give him a smile,
For he sees much sorrow in every mile.
He needs all the warmth from home he can get,
That he may for a moment his hardships forget.

Cheer on the soldier! For he is the bravest of all.
Without hesitation he answers duty’s call.
And though he may look handsome in his uniform so sleek,
Remember that his profession is often very bleak.

Cheer on the soldier! For he is what makes the army strong,
And credit and honor to him does belong.
For the destiny of our country is in the hand,
Of every able and fighting man.

Cheer on the soldier! Until he comes home.
Let him know he’s not forgotten and alone.
Show him your gratitude, show him you care,
And if he needs someone, you’ll always be there.

  6. Stephanie Says:

Thank you! While my husband was deployed to Iraq he recieved packages and letters from the class at Bevier, MO. These packages and letters from the children lifted my husband’s spirits up. Thank you adopting my husband.

  7. Delores Says:

Carrie…I’ve noticed them this Spring on campus too and I think they are the cutest things. Might have to look into a pair!!

  8. Carrie Bremer Says:

Aren’t they adorable!? The cheapest I’ve found are for $20 at target.com I haven’t actually been in the store, yet, to see if they have any. You and I could be two hot mamas!

  9. clear99 Says:

Wasn’t it Ivan Browning? I was back home a few weeks ago and I came across a fifty gallon water drum that was to be used in case the “big one” hit. And no, I didn’t taste the water!

  10. Scotty Says:

Yes, that was him I think! Thinking about it later I also remembered that the morning it was supposed to happen there were morning radio & tv shows from all over the Country there live. Satellite trucks as far as the eye could see.

  11. Robert Says:

Thanks a lot!!!! I gave you that toaster!!!

    ….just kidding

  12. Shelly Rugen Says:

Am I the first? See I was listening

  13. Jessica Says:

Hey, Jaime! Great Blog and I love the station!!! (Did I win???)

  14. Amanda Says:

I have never been much in to that kind of thing until the last few years. I just in the last 2 weeks got hooked on Dr.Who :) ….anyway
Check YOur e-mail I will tell you more. Don’t want everyone to think i am nuts

  15. clear99 Says:

It was a tie so you and Shelly both win. I failed to take into account the possibility of two people commenting at the same time… Ha! Please send me an email with your full name, address, phone #… Congrats and Thanks!

  16. clear99 Says:

It was a tie so you and Jessica both win! I failed to take into account the possibility of two people commenting at the same time… Ha! Please send me an email with your full name, address, phone #… Congrats and Thanks! Did you check out the song?

  17. Jen Says:

Me too! but looks like I am number two!

  18. clear99 Says:

Yeah, I should have thought about that before I posted this, huh:)

  19. Scotty Says:

I said I was still using it!

  20. Carrie Says:

My dad was stationed in Saudi Arabia for the Gulf War so it was just my mom and my sisters and I at home.

The few days following the predicted “big one,” my little sister, Beth, was going around the house removing all of the pictures from the walls and putting all of our breakables on the floor. We were so sure it was going to “hit” that she and I packed a bag…just in case our home was destroyed. I think I even wrote a will! I was probably 12 years old!

  21. Sharon Says:

I have never had a passport, either, but need to get one before I visit my folks in Texas this winter, as we will be going into Mexico. A few years back, all I needed was my driver’s license, but now passport is required. How long does it take to get approved and may I ask what is the charge?

  22. Scotty Says:

You need your license, birth certificate, official pictures (which you can get at the Post Office, Walgreens, and I’m sure some other places) and to fill out the application from the Post Office. It cost me $101 and some change. It’s supposed to take 4-6 weeks, although I think you can pay quite a bit more and get it faster if need be. The lady at the Post Office was very nice in answering my questions as I got started, you might start there. Adios!

  23. Scotty Says:

Were you even born when that song came out? I remember playing on the radio when I was a 6 year old disc jockey in Cape Girardeau.

  24. Jamie Mac Says:

It came out in 85′ so you would’ve been a 6 year old disc jockey… I would’ve been a 6 year old! Ha. Though, I do remember the song, but like Sugarlands/LBT/Jake Owens version much better. Their voices come together very well… Jamie

  25. clear99 Says:

Miracle whip, dill pickles and bbq potato chips all thrown on a sandwich… I made it through college on these.. Good Stuff.

    Jamie

  26. Elvis Says:

I-I-I like a good fried peanut butter and banana sammich.

    Uh – huh…

  27. Klara Says:

Hey KCLR 99 I wanted to let you all know that I signed My Dad up for the Adopt a Solder around Christmas last year and since dad has got to come home for a little while and my Dad, Brandy and I all got to meet one of the Angel that sent my Dad a wonderful present from “home life”. I have pictures from our time in Columbia where the wonderful Vicki lives we all went out to eat and then to a place called CODYS and I know you all know that place because KCLR 99 is where I heard about it for the first time so, I wanted to send the pictures to you all but I dont know where and what e-mail so please just let me know. THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS FOR OUR TROOPS. YOU ALL ARE THE REASON THAT WE ALL GOT TO MEET AND HOPEFULLY HAVE A LONG AND HAPPY RELATIONSHIP. GOD BLESS KCLR 99, VICKI, AND ALL OUT TROOPS.

  28. Scotty Says:

  32. Kathy Pritchett Says:

My son-in-law is getting ready to be deployed and I would love to give his wife a night away to let loose without their two children. She loves Brooks & Dunn and deserves to have an enjoyable evening.

  33. Debra Taylor Says:

I would love to win these tickets. I am a single mom and for me to do something like this is very hard.

  34. Sherry Miskle Says:

I just love Brooks and Dunn. My husband and I saw their concert back when it was still call River Port and they put on a great show.

  35. Tricia Says:

I was just wondering if you had gotten a lot of entries for the redneck wedding contest. Just curious what my odds were.

Do you know how many tickets have been sold? Are there still tickets available?

  39. Phoebe Says:

My family likes to eat what we call BELTs…bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato on toast with mayo! This is a quick breakfast fix, but as we are usually busy throughout the week, it makes a speedy dinner.

  40. ashley Says:

my friend, stormie, also got her pic taken with them!! and they signed her graduation program, it was sooo neat :)

  41. Jo Ann C Says:

I have to agree with you Scotty about the “online fan club”. As soon as I heard the fans were voting for the entertainer of the year I just knew that Kenny was going to win (although I voted for Brad!). Although I like most of Kenny’s songs and he is a great talent I think it is time for someone else like Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw….and what about the women for the big prize?

  42. Amy Fields Says:

I think it’s great that 2 celebrities can come in to such a big town and not get so “mobbed” down by stupid people………and I love the way Garth dressed down for the graduation!!! He is a true down to earth country boy! This couple is the real deal! I really appreciate seeing the picture!!
and congrats Carrie & Uncle Scotty on your nomination for the ACM….I have listened to alot of country stations between here and all over Illinois and I DO NOT like any of the other stations…..they just don’t “have it” like clear 99!!!!

  43. LORI JONES Says:

CARRIE – I AM GOING TO MISS YOU!!! YOU AND SCOTTIE MADE A PERFECT TEAM AND I HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED LISTING TO CLEAR 99 BUT ESPECIALLY THE MORNING SECTION. 65. Michele K Says:

I agree, the biggest award should not be voted on by the fans. That makes it a popularity contest. I think Kenny keeps winning because all he ever does is tour and record, tour and record. Man, take some time off! Now if the radio personalities were voted on by the fans…..

  66. Pam Says:

Carrie-I’m going to say congratulations. Changing your life to spend more time with your kids in my book is a heck of a promotion! Good Luck!

  69. Tina Hilgar Says:

What WILL Uncle Scotty do without you?! The two of you are the best. As a devout fan of Carrie & Uncle, I will continue to listen & support Uncle Scotty, but it will not be the same without you. Hello Uncle Scotty, Carrie and the Clear99 team.
Ted Shady Jr. would like to personally say THANK YOU for putting together the “Uncle and Carrie’s Adopt-A-Soldier” program. Mr. Shady was VERY surprised to receive the packages from Vicki M., Amamnda & Terry K. (Audrey N.).

The packages were distributed to newly arriving soldiers who had only been in the Middle East for a few hours. The expressions and demeanor of our young troops was of uncertainty and apprehension. The care packages relieved this, replaced with smiles and talk of home. How it felt like sitting around a Christmas tree home as they passed around the gifts of Love and Hope.

Mr. Shady would gladly give all that he is for his coalition troops, family and friends, like Uncle Scotty and Carrie because this is what makes our people, our country “GREAT”!

Mr. Shady will be returning to the Middle East very shortly and will be getting up his troop’s back-sides to get in touch with Clear99 so they may be able to share and distribute the heart-felt packages from “home”

Thank you, to all the people and businesses who have participated in this program.

God Bless you all and our troops.

  94. Paige Davidson Says:

My mom loves Brooks and Dunn and it would mean alot to her to get to see them and meet them. She works so hard to give us kids everything and never gets anything for herself. This would be the perfect gift for her.

  95. Klara Says:

    Hey Jamie

I tryed you test but you will be floored when I tell you this but my friend and I came up with a few reasons why you couldnt tell the diffrence in the candys one did you drink something between each taist? 2 what was it you drank?
3 how many of the same color did you eat?
4 what did you have to eat earlyer on in the day.
because this will have barring on your results.

Now you can tell my friend and I have no live and that we have to much time to do experiments like this one or that we are completely bored and didnt want to wake up our kids so we tryed this and didnt have to make a sound doing it.

  96. Klara Says:

So where are the results did any of them have 32 AA batterys in them. I would like to know if no one else does.

  97. jmac Says:

    Klara,

I took a drink of water between each skittle, but did do the same one more than once. I feel that makes it more legitamate since you could do the process of elimination otherwise.

I know my taste buds are shout for reasons we will not mention:) Though, I’ve tried this test on more than ten people now and have yet to get someone to test better than 2 for 5.

    So what were your results?

Did you follow the scientific formula above:)?

We might have to conduct some tests on air next week to get more results… As of now, though, I conclude that this my “theory” is indeed plausable – Little Mythbusters reference there.

    Have a Great Weekend!

    JMAC

  98. jmac Says:

Yeah, a few people from here and I did buy a few batteries, but unfortunately they only contained big 1 volt batteries. Though, we were unable to find the 6 volt in the orginal video… So it’s still up in the air:) Will let you know when we find one and finish the test:) Jmac

  99. Dot Says:

Carrie, I will miss your role in the morning show. However, you ARE making the right decision by staying home with your precious children. I stayed home with mine from birth until they were 14 and 16 years old. I would NOT take a million dollars for those years together and neither would they. Being a wife and mother IS the best career in the world and I only wish I could “do it all over again.” May God bless you!

  100. Leann Halderman Says:

me and my family is going to miss you Carrie. you made a Great and Nice Team. their no one every going to take your place in my heart. we will naver going to forget you. angels are always with you. i love listen to the morning show. i was a big fan of both you guys. uncle scott was a big nice teddy bear. their no one in the world will take your place and be as good as you. you are angel from heaven and heart of gold. take care. may god bless you always. we love you very much. 101. Darlene Bleich Says:

Carrie, I will really miss you as you have been a part of my life every morning drivinging to work since you started at Clear99. I do understand though as I stayed home with my children for 18 years and then went to work and my years with them were the best ones ever. Good luck and I wish you all the best with your time enjoying your children and seeing them grow up. It is priceless! Thanks for being you and know that you are always with us in our hearts. We love you.

  106. Jamie Mac Says:

My Haggard song has always been “That’s the way love goes” with “Pancho and Lefty” a close second….

    I’m horrible with birthdays too!

In fact, when I was in school I came about an hour away from forgetting it altogether. I put the date on a paper I was turning in the next day and was like “whoa” it’s my b-day…

Hope you enjoyed that hot pretzel and cup of milk:)

    Jamie

  107. Burroakbelgians Says:

We rode horses until dark and hurried home before the moon came out… ate lunch at who evers house was the closest to the swimming hole.

  108. Lacey Says:

    Jamie,
I completely agree w/you! (Bet you’re smiling now!!) Why would a country who has so LITTLE $$$ waste it on something we don’t even need. Most people I know, myself included, hardly ever carry cash! I get that making pennies & nickels are probably not the reason for our $$$ crisis, but hey, every little bit helps right? We shouldn’t waste more $$ to make the coins than they are worth! End of story, period dot!

  109. Amy Theberge Says:

I enter this for our daughter cause she is a big or should we say huge Kenny Chesney fan. And, it’ll probably be the last thing we can do big for her.

  110. Lori Says:

We played in the dirt all day and mom took the garden hose to us when it was time to come in. Spent the entire day in the lake and didnt have to worry about big boats running us over.

  111. Valerie Martin Says:

I am Kenny’s biggest fan! I have been trying to meet him for over 5 years now! And my big dream is to just hang out (and drool over) with him and his band….

  112. cathy Says:

we never locked our doors, we slept with the windows open, and we were spanked if we were rude to our elders or mouthy to our parents and God help us if we ever lied. Getting an ice crem cone after church was a big deal, and we always had Sunday Dinner at Grandmas

  113. Susan Heath Says:

{Rascal Splatts} would be a great one to see! I took my 13 year old here in Columbia and she is so in love with one of the guys! And she loves Tayor Swift! Good luck to who ever wins it! Thanks Have a great day! Susan

  114. shawnna Says:

  116. Scotty Says:

We used to go trick-or-treating all over town, all by ourselves, for hours at a time. No parents, no cell phones and no flash lights.

  117. Alicia Says:

    Congrats to the couple

  118. Donna Crowley Says:

My husbands birthday is July 7 and this would be a special birthday gift getaway for us. We took our honeymoon in Nashville so this would be sort of a second honeymoon 31 years later!

  119. The Johnson's (Hallsville) Says:

    Carrie,
It seems for once I am without words(God knows I can talk)after reading you blog. You will never know how much you mean to Danny, Michaella, Dillon and I. When Danny went overseas the first time, you were such a great friend to me and the kids. As much as we will miss hearing you in the mornings, we are happy that you will be with your kids. I know firsthand how quick our kids grow. Michaella and Dillon are in middle school now. Take care and we will get together for that BBQ!
    Love always,
    The Johnsons

  120. Ashley Schrader Says:

It has been my dream for 18 years to meet Kenny Chesney because i am his biggest and #1 fan. I have never gotten to but tickets to his concert. I am always having to help my parents and therfore never have any time to myself. I would do anything to have this one chance.

  121. Tori Says:

As I sat here reading your blog I felt so moved. I feel what you wrote sometimes. and it is scary to think that someday the people that you take for granted are gone. And everyone always wishes that they could have one more day. I believe that EVERYTHING happens for a reason and it is ALL in God’s plan. I lost my grandpa almost 4 years ago and we were VERY close. I had a hard time trying to figure out why the Lord took him. He as well had a passion for country music. I think that is where I got it. All my other cousins don’t really care for it, but it is my life! This just comes to show the music is sooooo powerful!I just know that in my heart that he is healthy and happy up there picking a guitar with Waylon and Johnny! With no pain! Jamie, I just wanted to thank you for writing this blog! Your words have touched a life! (And it’s not too sappy, chicks dig that you know!! even though we don’t tell you guys enough!)
    Keep up the good work!!

    Thanks!

  122. Tori Says:

We learned how to drive our daddy’s stick shift truck down the gravel road and when we met a car, we didnt get scared at who was coming they just smiled and waved at ya, didnt have to worry about cops comeing out on the gravel roads! (now they are all paved! :(

  123. Anna Says:

What a great contest idea! My 10 year old loves listening to Rascal Flatts!

  124. SHERYL WRIGHT Says:

I bought a ticket for the Dream Home last Friday, 5/30/08, at Kilgore’s Pharmacy but have not received confirmation in the mail. Can you tell me if you are processing a ticket for me? Thanks.

  125. jmac Says:

Thanks for the comments! It’s just weird to me that parents almost have to FORCE their children to go outside and play… Punishment for me was having to stay inside!

And Cathy, I definately had my mouth washed out a time or two:) I think I preferred “Lava,” it didn’t help that after radio my dad worked for Lever Brothers… Liquid detergent is not fun:(

  126. jmac Says:

    Tori,

It strange how it’s the “little things” that we seem to miss the most!

Unfortunately for your Grandpa, Johnny and Waylon my Dad’s singing along while their pickin’. He was blessed with the same beautiful singing voice as I.

Can you say grab your ear muffs?:)

Thanks for the comment! It really made my day…

    Jamie

  127. Yvonne Says:

John Don here I come. I can’t wait to be able to run my hands through your hair!!! I think it is the most gorgeous hair in Country Music. Of course I want to see the rest of Rascal Flatts too, They are GREAT!! I would love to win a pair of tickets for myself and my best friend to see these great guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

  128. Debbie Says:

For me its working in my flower beds and garden during the summer. During the winter its looking through catalogs to see what I can plant in spring.

  129. Debbie Says:

Hi Jamie. I hadn’t ever read your blog before. But today after a really bad day at work and coming home something told me to check clear99 website. I saw the link for Go Rest High on The Mountain. I clicked on the youtube link and cried like a baby. I realized that today was the day my grandma had died 10 years ago and I had been so busy with other things that I had forgot. I felt awful. I also agree that sometimes we wait until its to late to say what we want to the ones we love and care about deeply. My grandma and I were very close and I miss her greatly. I don’t think you are being sappy either its nice to know that men don’t always have to be cocky all the time, thats one of the reasons I married my husband of 21 years. Because he can show his emotions and not ashamed of it. Men have feelings too and more ladies need to realize that and support them the way the men usually support them. Any way have a good day and keep up the good work.

  130. Debbie Says:

AMEN to all of the above.

  131. Scotty Says:

Maybe It’ll stop raining one of these days Debbie, and you can get to it!

  132. Teresa Davis Says:

Tricia, as of Friday morning about 2,400 tickets had been sold, which is less than half of the 6,000 available to be sold. Odds are pretty good! Or, you could win one of the many prizes valued at $1,000 each that will be given away.

  133. MicheleK Says:

I like Cosby very much but if I had $5000.00 I can think of better things to spend it on than ’80’s sweaters!

  134. Scotty Says:

You’re right. They’re probably itchy anyway!

  135. Beth Says:

There’s nothing better than a peanut butter and “Fluff” (marshmellow fluff) sandwich.

  136. Beth Says:

Jamie: this is my first time reading your blog and I was deeply moved by it. I am so blessed to still have my mother and father with me today. However they each have both endured the loss of their parents at seperate times during my life. I cannot imagine what that might be like and pray that I don’t find out anytime too soon. I commend you on opening up and writing about your father, I recently read that blogging is one of the best therapies…sounds like it worked well for you. Take care of yourself and thanks for the reminder about how quickly things and people in our lives can change. I’ve been so busy lately that I’ve only chatted with mom and dad a few minutes here and there over the last few weeks…I’m gonna call ‘em tonight after work!

  137. Teresa Davis Says:

I watched the whole show and liked it. I’ll admit, I never watched NStar when it was on USA Network – mainly because I’d forget when it was on – but what else am I going to do this summer at 8pm on a Monday? so I think I’ll watch it fairly regularly. I thought Third Town would be voted off – they weren’t even in the bottom 2 – too many performances in Vegas lounges! Don’t think they’ll last very long. I really liked Melissa, the mother who sang at the end. I thought her voice was powerful, had good stage presence, and felt she came across as genuine, which is so important in country music…fans can spot a phoney. I also liked Gabe, the cowboy from Texas – though he appeared nervous, but he’s voice was original. Look out for the pretty, young blonde from Minnesota (one of 13 kids)….the 3 sisters from St. Louis – shout out to my home town…and I gotta give props to the teenagers who tackled “Stand By Your Man”. Now that took guts! Justin? Scotty you’re a man and don’t get it. Who cares how he sounds…he’s gorgeous! Billy Ray needs to loosen up. Judges were real and overall I felt they offered good advice. I think it’s going to be fun to watch this summer.

  138. Allie Says:

Is Miranda Lambert opening instead of Leann Rimes? I read a post on her website and was just wondering if anyone could confirm that?

  139. Jamie Mac Says:

    Beth,

You are so right about the blogging being theraphy. I was kind of down in the dumps that day, which is kind of normal since every year around this time I am.

His birthday was May 28th, passed on the 30th and then Father’s day is just a few short weeks later.

I got done writing the blog and felt better about the day and life.

It’s weird that over the years you start forgetting stuff… looks, smiles, his laughter. I was home over the weekend and came across a few pictures from when I was young, in my undies and had his cowboy boots and hat on, which pretty much covered my legs.

btw… had the boots on the wrong feet:) Again… it seems to be the little things that matter most!

Thanks again for all the comments! Means alot…. Jamie

  140. Kiemberley Says:

I couldn’t tell a diffence in taste. It could be like the fruit loops, did you know that they really are made with the same flavor in each one just different coloring. You have to try it I couldn’t beleve it my self untill I tried.

  141. Bridget Eads Says:

My husband is a big fan of Kenneys and he would love to go and see him in concert as I would also. That would be a great Birthday present for him.

  142. Klara Says:

Wow some of those pictures are really funny. Scooty you have a hard job today I hope you pic the one that I just couldnt stop laughing at because that was just to funny. That was a good helping of funny and in this day and age we all need that. MAYBE you all can put funny pictures on the home page every week and then we will be able to laugh at least once in a week.

  143. Kimberly Dothage Says:

    Look I can jump too.

  144. Debbie Says:

I think a great book is the ticket to forget my worries. One with a great story and good characters. But in the beginning of 2009 I will be a grandmother for the first time and I think that grandbaby will be my zen next year!! 46 and a grandma?!yeeehaw

  145. Scotty Says:

There were SO MANY great entries, I wish we could get them all on the site, but we just can’t. We’re going to get a few more up this weekend though.

  146. Ellie Says:

Question: Did you draw the winner out or was it selected by the humor of the picture????

  147. Scotty Says:

We drew the winner Ellie, picking the best one would have been impossible.

  148. Scotty Says:

Who needs Zen with a new grandbaby Debbie!?

  149. happysmiles247 Says:

If I tell my daughter to go outside and play, or to use her imagination if she complains of being bored, she practically gets hives from the idea!

  150. Amy S Says:

    Jamie,

When I saw the title of this blog, I had to click and read. A little over two years ago my husband and I lost our son, and I’ve always thought of “Go Rest High On That Mountain” as his song, for so many reasons.

Reading also about you finding feathers…I too have found many feathers since Andrew died, but all of the ones I have found are turkey vulture feathers. (In Native American folklore, the turkey vulture is called the “peace eagle”, so the feathers are definitely a positive sign to me!)

I know what you mean too about forgetting things, the physical things about someone, but you always have that love in your heart for the person you lost.

    Stay strong!

  151. Meegan Says:

My husband is leaving for Iraq in August and as parents we always take the kids everywhere with us. This would be a nice trip for just my husband and I!

  152. Jamie Mac Says:

    Kiemberley,

I’ve never really thought about fruit loops, but was having fun with a friend over the weekend. I told her about the “skittles taste test challenge,” and she like most thought I was foolish.

Since I had no skittles with me I told her the same was true for M & M’s, which she had a bag of on her. So she’s guessing all these different flavors, when in reality it’s just chocolate.

If you want to have fun with your friends sometime try it. Might want to set them up with the skittles challenge first…

I got a good laugh out of it anyway:)

  153. Jamie Mac Says:

What people will do for Cards/Cubs tickets:)

    These are absolutely priceless!

  154. Betty Coleman Says:

    I loved that house!!!
If Jerry Stith doesn’t want it, I’ll buy it from him for the taxes!

  155. Sharon Says:

I was just looking at this awesome wedding invitation. Can you tell me who designed it? Did someone at the radio station do this?

  156. DJ Hunter Says:

    Thanks for the great contest. It was a blast! {and a splat}

  157. Glenda Says:

“I, like you, have watched Nashville Star from it’s onset. And I agree with you 100%. My disappointment started last year, when it seemed the contestants were not ‘Star Material’.

I had hoped being on NBC, with a possible larger audience, that they would have picked better contestants.

The idea of searchig the ‘Honky Tonks’ doesn’t impress me, I would much rather see an unknown make it to startdom through a show like this. But at least they need to be very talented.

One thing I am happy to see is John Rich as a judge.

It has taken Country Music a LONG time to get where it is today, and not be made fun of by many people. I’m afraid this year’s Nashville Star has taken us back a few steps.

Jamie, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I thought maybe it was just me, and I was being too critical this year.

  158. Jamie Mac Says:

THANK YOU! I’ve talked to a few people who think it’s great, but they have never seen it before this year.

I’d agree with you about last year, besides the ‘Hackers.’ I thought Angela had one of the most unique voices I had heard in some time – Too bad her music label rushed the cd.

And Zach’s song, “If it wasn’t for the whiskey” is still on my fav’s cd.

    Thanks for the comment!

    JMac

  159. Jamie Mac Says:

Was just going through my youtube videos and came across this.

It’s last year’s winner Angela Hacker performing Barbara M’s “I was country when country wasn’t cool.”

After her opening comments I wanted to dislike her, but she nailed the song and gave me goosebumps.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1B-6sASdbc

  160. Jamie Mac Says:

I’d agree with most, but not having “The Natural” in the top 10 in the sports category is blasphemy:)

And couldn’t find “Rascal Splatts” anywhere… figured it would be under epic!

  161. Scotty Says:

No Sharon, we didn’t do the invites. I know that moweddingconnection.com handled a lot of the preperations, but I’ll try to find out for sure.

  162. Debbie VanWye Says:

Great lists (WESTERNS)and several great movies. I love being a couch potatoe sometimes, and just veg out to movies on a rainy day!!!

  163. amy mcginness Says:

how long do i have to order these tickets before th show is sold out? my husband would love it !!

  164. Klara Says:

Where are some pictures of this day because this is my anniversery day and I wanted to see if their redneck wedding was any better than mine last year on June 21, 2007. I didnt get to go but a LOT of people have told me it was lots of fun, just want to see what it was like.

  165. Robert Says:

There wasn’t a category for one of my favorite movies, “Sergeant York”. I have also never understood the attraction to “Raging Bull”. I watched it in a film & lit class in college (25 years ago) and my professor was incredulous with the way I ripped it!

  166. Lori Trusty Says:

You are right there are some inexpensive things to do in St. Louis or just about anywhere in Missouri. I know it sounds funny for a family trip, but the Budweiser plant also gives free tours and offer a (small) sample at the end of the tour. There are soft drinks or beers to try. They limit the size and number you can get (used to be two small cups of beer) but you would be surprised at the history, not to mention the architecture around the Budweiser campus. If you are lucky you might even see a Clydsdale or two or even a dalmation!

  167. Jill Says:

It was a blast! The bands were awesome and the fireworks too! I think Terry and Ryan enjoyed the day very much!! We have some good pics and video too that we’ll share with Clear99….

  168. Judy Says:

Exactly!!!! I know tht times have changed, but come on kids—get out there and DO SOMETHING!! Constructive or physical that is–not wrong or illegal….

  169. Teresa Davis Says:

Great suggestion Lori. The Budweiser tour is very cool and it’s a way to see the Clydesdales up close – might even see a colt. Another place is Grants Farm also owned by A-B (or should I say InBev – no!!!). It’s free too. Here’s a link http://www.grantsfarm.com/

  170. Teresa Davis Says:

He started as a radio DJ in the 50’s…love the weather report! I also loved his Baseball vs. Football bit. “Baseball begins in the spring, the season of new life. Football begins in the Fall, when everything’s dying.” Here’s a couple of links…

  171. Teresa Davis Says:

I’m with you Robert about “Raging Bull”. Hated it. I think people got caught up in Scorsese (sp) mania…fact DeNiro gained 50 pounds for the movie…the whole film noir look. Thought “Field of Dreams” should’ve been on the Sports List. Fun to debate!

  172. Scotty Says:

“Raging Bull” was one of the movies that I hadn’t seen when I printed out my first “AFI list for the fridge” several years ago and I don’t get what the big deal is. I didn’t think it was bad, but I don’t understand the incessant fawning.

  173. Jamie Mac Says:

    Judy,

When my cousin asks her children to get out and do something they always reply “But Mom there’s nothing to do.” That was the great thing about being a kid, we could have fun doing anything. It’s cliche but remember when your family would get a new appliance? We could care less about the appliance or toy, it was always about the big box it came in. The greatest day of my childhood was when we got a new fridge – IT WAS THE GREATEST FORT EVER!!!!

  174. heather reyonlds Says:

thank you for a great time. hope we can do something like this again!! had a blast!!

  176. Joe Mama Says:

And who took you to see George Carlin brother?

  177. jmac Says:

That would be you “Joe Mama.”

    Thanks!

  179. Sarah C. Says:

I think you should name it Shirley!!! – Sarah

  180. Mike Ryan Says:

  181. Michelle M. Says:

  182. Jamie Mac Says:

That bit is a GREAT one Teresa!

  183. Jewlz Rulz Says:

    Keep up the good work!

    JEWLZ

  184. Jamie Mac Says:

Got the chance to meet Jill and her family at the St. Jude’s Golf Classic, such good hearted people.

And if you didn’t know the story of Jill and watched her chasing Uncle Scotty around, you’d never know. Btw… Uncle Scotty never caught Jill or her sister while playing hide and go seek:)

The people at St. Jude’s do so much great work, this is just ONE example out of so many.

    Have a GREAT time Jill!!!

  186. Jennifer Says:

    Bertha
    or
    The Bertha Bell

  187. Lindy Says:

It was pretty good…Who doesn’t LOVE Andy!

  188. DB Says:

Very nice!!! For an old softy, like me, brings a tear to the eye at the end.

  189. Zinda Cody Says:

Really good to see Andy Griffith out there again. Love the video and the song.

  190. Shelley Says:

Just lost my grandpa and this reminds me of him. Very nice video.

  191. Lu Says:

I loved it even though I started tearing up before the intro was finished. Excellent story, excellent lyrics, and excellently portrayed by Brad and Andy. I really appreciate the way Brad continues to blend generations in his creative endeavors.

  192. karen staggs Says:

I’d have to say in the “western” catergory that “McClintock” would be in my top 10 w/ John Wayne. Love that movie!!

  193. Kim Says:

WOW!! This is a super video. I love a song that will bring a tear to my eye. Keep up the great work, Brad.

  194. Teresa Davis Says:

Trying to think of all the famous people in Brad Paisley videos. Andy Griffith, William Shatner, Jason Alexander, Little Jimmy Dickens, Dan Patrick (former ESPN guy)…who am I missing? Oh, Kimberly of course.

  195. Tina Hilgar Says:

I would have to say that Tim & Faith are the best couple! They are so perfect together!

  196. L Dudgeon Says:

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!!!!!! I’ve always been a big fan of Andy, but this tops it all. I’ll always think of this video when I hear the song….GREAT JOB!

  197. Susan Says:

Wonderful! I lost my stepdad several years ago and I do believe that is up there waiting on us. Thank you for a great song and video. It made me remember all the go times with my stepdad.

  198. Jamie Mac Says:

Lovin’ all the guesses! Here’s a few more we’ve got from people calling in.

    Kelly, KellyBell

    Chesney

    Burta

    Buddha

    Henry

    Tinker Bell:)

Please keep them coming! In a few days we’ll narrow it down to five, then put up a poll and let you decide the name of the “Clear Cowbell.”

    Thanks again!

    JMac

  199. Wendy Says:

I recently took my son on a weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks. We camped at Bull Run Bluffs, just West of Camdenton. They had a swimming pool, lake access, and really nice people. Then we explored Ha Ha Tonka State park, which was lovely. It is only about 10 minutes from the campground. Lots of hiking on easy, paved trails. There are the ruins of an old castle overlooking the lake. Lots of cool stuff. Park rangers were friendly and helpful. And it is free! On our way home we visited Bridal Cave, just North of Camdenton. It was an excellent time. The total cost of food, camp, cave, and gas was less than $100. And we had a half tank of gas when we got home. Can’t beat that!

  200. Wendy Says:

I can’t believe Lonesome Dove was not on the westerns list. And have you seen the courtroom drama Nuts with Barbra Streisand???

  201. Wendy Says:

George was the best. My Dad and I have been wearing out his computer watching him on You Tube. My mom likes his Cats and Dogs skit, but can’t find it on You Tube. I thought EVERYTHING was on You Tube lol

  202. Wendy Says:

    I love a rainy night.
    I love a rainy night.
I love to hear the thunder,
    Watch the lightning,
as it light up the sky…

not my fave, but the first rain song that popped in my head :-)

  203. Brent Says:

I consider myself a pretty tough guy, but as soon as I saw Andy a tear ran down my check. Yea it’s a great song but there’s just something about Andy. To me he represents the good ol’ days and his shows always made you smile. He is such an incredible person and we are lucky to enjoy him. Good job Brad! God Bless you Andy Griffith.

  204. kim Says:

We recently went with family to Rudolph Bennett State Park. We took the horses, campers, and tents. We live in Moberly, so it was just 15 minutes from home, ( which is handy if you forgot something or needed something). They have some rocky trails that are really nice for the horses or for walking. Just watch where you step…:) They have an awesome lake for fishing and a firing range too. There is no fee for camping. There is a tavern/restaurant just up the road from the campsite and I think a live bank every Saturday night. I think there is a cover to go and listen to the band, but they ususally play so loud, you can hear the band all throughout the campground. Just sit around the campfire with a brewsky and friends and your horses…oh, I hear a Toby Keith song there….lol Check it out some weekend. Very cool place to go. You can’t go wrong with FREE. Rudolph Bennett is located off of highway 63. Take 22 junction to centrailia, but turn left at top of exit and follow road til you see signs. I think it’s on Route T. You might google to double check.

  205. Carrie Says:

Have you noticed that Brad either makes us laugh or makes us cry in his videos! This is one that I’m not ashamed I cried along with.

Mr. Griffith reminds me of my Pa Pa, in his bibs and white hair.

  206. Karen S. Says:

How about Moo-lah Bell? Everytime you ring the bell, someone wins lots a moolah!

  207. Gaylene Says:

I have heard Uncle Scotty talk about this program. I am very proud to be an American. I pray daily for the U.S. soldiers all over the world. I thank them for their sacrifices they make for all Americans to be able to live in this wonderful and free USA. God bless them.

  208. Cindy Jeske Says:

Hey, Karen S. has a great name – Moo-lah! She’s the best so far!!!

  209. Jamie Mac Says:

“On second thought…after a couple of Buds I might get all mushy and give you a standing ovation and wished I’d worn that jersey hanging in my closet!”

Or you might decide to throw your beer on him!

Face it T, he’s crossed over to the “dark side,” and will be boo’d like no other BECAUSE we appreciated him so much.

No “Hollywood” for Jimmy this weekend!

  210. Kathy Says:

For the very first time, I’m interested in a reality show. No one is shocked more than me. For some reason, I’m really liking Nashville Star. Scotty – when you & Carrie would talk about Idol, I’d zone you out and think who cares? But, Nashville Star, I would be there with you arguing for my favorite. Like you & Teresa, I have agreed with most of what the judges have said. The people who have been booted really needed to go. I would have sent Alyson packing the first week. I think the two teeny-boppers will be gone next week. They sounded horrible this week. I know they are young, but I just don’t see anything there. Or it could be Coffey or the Navy guy. I predict they will be the next 3 to leave, I’m just not sure of the order. I think it will finally come down to Melissa Lawson with her 5 cute kids and Gabe. The 3 sisters from St. Louis are ok, but I just don’t think they have what it takes to be there week after week. The same with the others. As for Billy Ray….are there really words to describe how bad he is? They brought that woman in to save him, but she isn’t much better in my opinion. They need to start over – maybe Uncle Scotty could finish out the year? :)

  211. Kathy Says:

Happy Birthday a little late! Here is my question – why wasn’t I one of those pretty girls?

  212. dawn Says:

    Big Mac Bell
    Bellnoisy

  213. Rick Says:

If he can keep it up for another season or two, then good for him, because that will probably get him into the Hall of Fame. I think he deserves to go with the career he’s had, but the writers association likes milestone numbers (i.e., 400 home runs)

  214. Carissa Says:

    Bella-Bella

  215. Teresa Davis Says:

We’ll have to wait & see. But if he does make it to Cooperstown – he’ll go in as a Cardinal – I’ll proudly wear by “Jimmy Jersey” with the retired #15 on the back.

  216. Steve F. Says:

Chuck Berry sang, “he could play the guitar just like a ringin’ a bell”. That made me think about B.B. King…I don’t know why. Then I thought she (your cowbell) should be named ‘Lucille’.

    It makes perfect sense.

  217. Jamie Mac Says:

    Steve,

Really like that one! Lucille… that’s a purdy name for a cowbell.

Starting Monday, we’ll put up a poll with the 5 most “COWBELLISH”

  218. Diana Winn Says:

I love that I can get up dates on what is going to be on the radio even if I don’t get the chance to listen. I always have my radio on your station at work. You are the funnest (most fun??) radio station. I’m originally from Montgomery County so I have listened to many country radio stations from St Louis to Columbia – you are by far the best. Keep up the good work KCLR!

    Diana Winn

PS I love love love ice cream!

  219. Debbie VanWye Says:

I recently discovered frozen custard, it is GREAT! I haven’t been able to enjoy ice cream for years, but this stuff is so smooth and creamy and doesn’t upset my stomach. Have fun trying all the flavors, in Moberly we only have vanilla and chocolate.

  220. Neal Says:

    Scotty.

I think once you decide on the ingrediants you should call it
Uncle Scotty’s Oh SO Naughty Concrete

  221. Megan Says:

Boy Scotty, it’s a tough job, but someone has to do it!! You are working wayyyyy to hard!

  222. Michele Says:

Chocolate and vanilla custard with lots of marshmallow topping swirled with caramel and topped with chocolate chunks…kind of like Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food…okay now I am hungry!!!

  223. Jamie Mac Says:

Ok. The “Five Finalists” are posted on the poll at the bottom left side of our homepage…

    Please vote now:)

    JMac

  224. Jamie Mac Says:

    Wendy,

Here’s the link to the “cats and dogs” bit.

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=k5HfPDbL39Q

Hope you enjoy:) Thanks for your comments!

  225. Lorie Says:

I bought two tickets for my husband’s birthday. I think he will be really surprised because he loves Rodney Carrington!

  226. Sabra Proctor Says:

I would like to help with the Buddy Pack Program or maybe help serve lunch some days, please tell me who to contact.

    Thanks

  227. Jamie Mac Says:

    Couldn’t agree more!

There’s a song by George Jones that brings Brad Paisley to mind for me-”Whose Gonna Fill Their Shoes.”

I’ve said this before, but I think that BP is that person who will “play the Opry” and remind us of our roots.

He’s the embodiment of coutnry music. He reminds me alot of a Vince Gill, and I totally agree he will/should host an awards show.

    JM

  228. Jamie Mac Says:

Cardinals winning their 11th World Championship and beating the Cubs in game 7 of the NLCS at Wrigley!

Oh… guess that would be considered fall:)

My vote is for the Olympics!

  229. Teresa Davis Says:

    Sabra,

Call Mike Brun with the Food Bank at 800-764-3663 or 573-474-1020.
    Thanks for helping.

  230. Tracy Says:

Wow, I just watched the new video, and I couldn’t agree with you more! I love Brad, he is so multi-facted. I must say tho’, explaining to my son why I’m cracking up to “I’m Still a Guy” has been interesting to say the least.

  231. kathy flaugher Says:

  238. jmac Says:

AND SHE FINALLY HAS A NAME – BESSIE!!

Thanks again for all your votes and suggestions!!!!!

    JMac

  239. Scotty Says:

Good one Wendy. Today I remembered another one I used to play on the jukebox at The Pin Oak Pub and Motel in Carterville, Illinois. The Temptations “I Wish It Would Rain”. Great song.

  240. Craig Wheeler Says:

My wife and I just love Andys! I first “discovered” Andy’s when I was activated for Operation Noble Eagle in 2003 and was stationed in Ft. Leonard Wood. I think the one I like best out of the choices is the Brownies and Marshmallow with Chocolate Custard. The rest were good too, but I am a chocolate hound.

  241. Jennifer Says:

    Hey Jamie,
Got one that’s easy and pretty good.
Get some Chicken Breast Cut into chuncks cook. (Pre-Cooked out of freezer section works great too.)Then add to Lipton Noodles and Sauce or Lipton Rice and Sauce most any flavor. Cook as directed on package w\ chicken make a dish, and will you vary it with the different flavors.
If you try it let me know how it worked for you.
    Best of Luck!
    Happy Not Cooking!
    Jennifer

  242. Jennifer Says:

    Hey Jamie,
Forgot to proof read my comment.
It should have been like this.

Cook as directed on package w\ chicken makes a great little dish, and you can vary it with the different flavors.

    Jennifer

  243. T J Long Says:

Butterfinger & Pecans with Vanilla Custard

  244. jmac Says:

    Jennifer,

That sounds easy enough, I’ll have to try that one sometime.

I’m now a proud owner of the George Foreman Grill so have been expiermenting with that the last few nights… That thing is fun!

    Thanks for the tip!

    JMac

  245. Ashley Schrader Says:

    Hey Jamie,
    I have one thats easy!
Go get macaroni and cheese and hot dogs and cook hot dogs in a pan on the stove. Cook macaroni as directed. When they both are done cut the hot dogs up and put in to macaroni and stir. It is very delicious. Happy cooking and Good luck.
    Ashley

  246. Ashley Schrader Says:

    Jamie,
hey i know what you are going through because i lost my grandpa schrader about 17 years ago and it still hurts as if it was yesterday. I lost my grandpa maupin about 5 years ago and i still miss him. Everytime i hear that song i think of them. SO i know what you are going through. Jamie you will get through this.
    Ashley

  247. Jamie Mac Says:

    Ashley,

Sounds good. Reminds me of the ham and beans with dogs… good stuff!

    JM

  248. Wendy Says:

The first thing I did Jamie, was I closed my eyes while playing the video, to see if I liked the song. I really did. (I have heard it before and didn’t know who sang it) then I replayed the video, and watched it, to judge wether or not it was to racy for country music and if Jess is just trying to “sell her body”. One question: Has your friend ever watched ANY country music videos??? Ther was less skin in this video than most. She was not naked on a bed under a sheet, she was not naked in a bath tub, she is hot and couldn’t dress down if she wanted to and WHY WOULD SHE??? I have never really been a Jessica Simpson fan, but maybe things are about to change.

  249. KC Says:

She’s trying WAY too hard to be Carrie Underwood. I’ve always had a mild tolerance for Jessica Simpson, even though I find her annoying sometimes with the whole “dumb blonde” act. I like the song but when you put the video with it, it’s just like she’s trying to out-do Carrie. She won’t ever be Carrie and she doesn’t need to be..wish somebody would inform her of that. But I do agree that this video is tame compared to some of the others in country music. And it’s not NEAR as bad as her Boots Are Made For Walkin’ video.

  250. Jamie Mac Says:

    KC,

I agree. I like the song, but think she’s trying too hard to be country.

Wendy, my thoughts exactly on the video, I’ve seen a whole lot worse on CMT and GAC. But, that’s when they actually play videos:) Ha!

    Thanks for the comments!

    JMac

  251. Ashley Says:

I don’t think anybosy who starts out at another music genre should switch. They chose their route and they should stick with it. I don’t think jessica is cut out for country.
    Ashley

  252. Dee Luebbering Says:

Yeh!!!!! Carissa’s finally come back home to Clear 99!

    Congratulations Carissa!!

  259. DD Says:

I’m so happy Scotty finally found a co-host, and Carissa congratulations to you. I’ve been listening this week and you all sound great. I’m sure more good things are yet to come.

  260. feisty grandma Says:

You sound great together and Carissa has a good upbeat personality. Sure glad you got a “hometown” girl that knows the station, central Missouri people and her way around the Zimmer business.

  261. Ashley Says:

I like the song. I just think she is trying to be competition for Carrie Underwood….but she will never win! lol

  262. Jennifer Berry Says:

If a local business were interested in hosting a food drive to help support the buddy pack program, where would they go for information? And, would Clear 99 be able to put the info over the air as to where the drive would be held, etc>

  263. Teresa Davis Says:

    Jennifer,

Contact Mike Brun with the Central Missouri Food Bank at 573-474-1020 or 800-764-3663. Let us know if you set up a food drive. Thanks for your help.

  264. Jennifer Says:

Well, welcome to the morning show Carissa…someone has to keep Uncle Scotty in line. But, I must ask.. what happened to Carrie? Did I miss something? The dynamics between her and Scottie were amazing! Carissa, no disrespect intended..I’m sure you’ll do great…but the bar has been set.. you’ve got some big shoes to fill!

  265. Scotty Says:

Carrie is doing great, she called to wish Carissa good luck Monday morning. Her little girl starts school this fall and she figured she’d missed enough mornings with the little ones. She’s going to try to find something with more normal hours.

  266. brenda c Says:

    carissa,
i remember you working the weekends on clear and also i listened to you on 94.3 station. welcome back! i hope thatyou stay. and no more changes! clear has been thu differnt changes, for i have been listening to clear since it came on the air.and scotty hope you dont leave, by the way scotty you really good by yourself but you did need a sidekick! huh?

  272. Jamie Mac Says:

And the winner for blog of the year is…. dum..dum..dum..dum…. TD!!!! That was great!

  273. Shannon Says:

Hi Carissa! I remember hearing you on the weekends on Clear 99 and I used to listen to you on 94.3. I just wanted to say welcome and it’s so great hearing you every morning with Uncle Scotty!

  274. Carissa Says:

Thank you Shannon! I’m very excited to be back

  275. Dale Says:

I would love to be on Deal or No Deal. Stare at pretty women and win a bunch a money! Ideal game.

  276. Jocelyn Says:

Sara is fantastic and I love her sister Leslie too!!!! Sara is from our back door neighborhood BOONESBORO, MO!!!!!!!!!!!! We just love her, and she did a concert at New Franklin High School that I took my daughter to while she was pregnant.
Dakota loved the music and was just moving up a storm. Sara’s songs tell the real life in a farming community!!!!!!!!!

  277. Amanda Says:

I agree…trying too hard, a couple failed relationships…why not try to make it in the country business since she has not been able to catch up with the competition in the pop industry. I do not believe you can officially go country if you were initially branded as a pop singer, i just think she is trying to desperately save her career and stay in the music business and see where she can get in the country industry to still make some money. Tisk Tisk…playing a HORRIBLE version of Daisy Duke in Dukes of Hazard, DOES not mean you are country or can ever be a country star.

  278. Jamie Mac Says:

I too, have always dreamed of spinning the “big wheel!!!” Also,

I am freakishly good at Jeopardy… Yeah, I can remember useless info, but I can never remember what year it is when writing out a check:)

    I still think it’s 2006!!!

  279. DOT Says:

I have been listening to you and you are doing GREAT! You don’t have to be Carrie. We loved her. But, we already love you as well! You and Scotty are doing a good job together.

  280. Teresa Davis Says:

I found this article about Christian, John & Ace. Very interesting.

I will definatly be listening and ruting for you.

  282. Carissa Says:

  319. Micheal Says:

    Ashtyn is great!

  320. Amanda Says:

i don’t know about Missouri…but where i am from (Florida) they are a BIG deal at the fairs down there…we used to eat them all the time, they are kinda like BIG churros, i miss them! Missouri does a lot of funnel cake stuff, i’m not quite sure! Another big hit at Florida fairs are boiled peanuts (AMAZING!) and of course sweet tea… i wish they did that here in MO!

  321. Carissa Says:

I’ve drank many gallons of sweet tea in my day, but not boiled peanuts. I’ll just add it next to elephant ears on my need-to-try list

  322. Carissa Says:

I’ve had many gallons of sweet tea in my day, but I will have to add boiled peanuts right next to elephant ears on my need-to-try list. Thanks!

  323. deb Says:

the today show had a story about this yesterday, they interviewed the two guys, who look like they’re about 70 now.

  324. deb Says:

i wish i knew someone with a time share at like branson, that’d be awesome.

  325. teresad Says:

    Thanks for the update…

Here’s a link to the Today Show interview in case anyone is interested.

  326. ... Says:

    nice place to hide bessy…

  327. Amanda Says:

I was born and raised in Clearwater, Fl and know the Tampa area VERY well, my family lives down there, I’d say its awesome for vacations but Florida is defiantly not the place to live…especially if you consider taking an 1 to 2 hours to get to the work in the morning because of the traffic!I don’t know about you but i love getting up a half hour before I have to get to work and out the door I go! Good grief!

  328. Wendy Says:

j-mac, you have got to be the funniest person ever!! I, too, am an animal lover, with grouchy non-animal loving friends. I will print and post your “regulations” on my front door.

p.s. I love hearing you first thing in the morning

  329. Wendy Says:

Let me tell all of you guys and gals something… I do a lot of driving. My radio is always on. County. Clear 99. When ads are playing (I know you have to have ads) I will occationally switch to a dif station to hear music…. ( I am sooo sorry, I am an unfaithful insider) Anyways, it is not me that recongnizes that the voice we are listening to is NOT a Clear voice, it is my children. They are 10 and 8. (my 8 year old is autistic and doesn’t miss a thing)This morning, I was listening to Carissa and I guess she fits in cuz my babies did not even notice! There is a special voice that Clear Country gives their DJ’s…or maybe the DJ’s give to Clear Country. I think she is gonna fit in just fine.

Oh and Carrisa, Keep an eye on that Jamie Mac, he is kinda squirrely!

  330. Wendy Says:

I moved my family away (to Billings Montana) and found out a short time later that home is where I wanted to be, so we headed home. We were sad, but we took that 24 hour drive home. We were not too far out of K.C.(bout 40 miles east) when the radio station Clear 99 finally came in Clear. We knew we were home, and let me tell you… home never felt so sweet.

  331. Patrick Says:

J-mac, I can sympathize with the first part…I had a family dog of almost 15 yrs that was put down and nobody was there with her…Being old & wise now, I feel soooo guilty for not being with her. To appease my guilt, I foster dogs from the Central Missouri Humane Society so they don’t have to go through that at all. Have you ever thought about getting involved with them? They could use a little celebrity endorsement….

  332. Shannon Says:

I’ve tried boiled peanuts before…they were definitely a unique taste!

  333. Jamie Mac Says:

Thanks so much Wendy! I’ve gained a new appreciation for everyone who wakes up before the sun is up.

Gosh, it takes a toll on the body and mind though, but I had tons of fun with Carissa!

Patrick, I’m actually looking into doing something with the CentralMO humane society… maybe “Pardon My Pound Puppies” or something like that… Definatley would love to help out the pooches and felines!

    JMac

  334. Janet Says:

Great Pictures. Looks like lots of fun. I’ve been wanting to go on a cruise.. Someday I’ll get there.

  335. Carissa Says:

That’s awesome Wendy. We Love hearing that!

  336. Carissa Says:

That’s neat that your kids can recognize the Clear staff’s voices, we love that! It’s a big relief that I didn’t scare them away! I really appreciate all the support from both you and your children.

Oh, and don’t worry, I’ve got a close watch on Jamie!

  337. Scotty Says:

    I would highly recommend it. Ours was a 7 day’er, but I think a 4 day’er would be plenty.

  338. Sabra Says:

    where did you go?

  339. Scotty Says:

Cozumel, Honduras, Belize and Bahamas, all beautiful!

  340. Klara Says:

Scotty these are GREAT pictures you are really good at taking them do you have a good eye or camera. Your look good in a Jeep you should get one. As for the trip, I think everyone says that 4 day trips are better than 7 or at least my husband and I did when we went to Vegas last year for our wedding and honeymoon we also were there for 7 days and that was just to long, 4 would have been better.
Well thank for the pictures I think I will use one of them for my wall paper on the computer so all I have to do is look at it and I am in a tropical paradise, and not at my desk under a mountain of paperwork.
    Thanks again Scotty.

  341. Scotty Says:

Thanks Klara! Photography is one of those hobbies I’ve gotten away from in recent years, but I’m trying to get back to it. My Pop was a photography teacher so I learned most of it from him.

  342. Don and Janet Says:

We agree, just got back yesterday after 2 days with the Mouse. Hot, humid and crowded like some of the shore excursions. 4 parks in 2 days, . Really enjoyed time with you both. Give your mom our best. Great music. Don & Janet

  343. rose mary Says:

Scotty, i am sitting here looking at your beautiful pics. and turning green with envy…….i hope you had a wonderful trip…i think it is great spending time with your mom like that….thanks for the pics..they are beautiful…

  344. Sheri Says:

Loved the pics. God did a magnificent job. I’m using one of the sunset/sunrise pics as my wallpaper. Been to the ocean lots of times and it moves me every time. One day I will get my cruise. Glad you had such a blast.

  345. Sherry Says:

Love the pics Scotty!! I have always wanted to go on a cruise….and now I do even more so!! I think the 7 day would be fabulous….but the hubby would go more for a short trip….he doesn’t like to be away from HOME too long!!

  346. Teresa Davis Says:

    I rest my case.

  347. Scotty Says:

“If you haven’t got a penny,
    a haypenny will do.
If you haven’t got a haypenny…you are so good lookin’!”

    Hmm. Seems to lack flow.

  348. Cheryl Says:

Great pictures. Wasn’t the water unbelievably blue? Could I ask which cruise line you used? We went Princess on our Caribbean cruise. Same for Alaska, now that is a cruise you should take! Seven days was not enough there.

  349. Ashley Says:

    Jamie
hey it’s alright because if you are accused of a man crush then it is okay because i have a crush on you. And personally you and keith anderson are both hot.
    thanks ashley

  350. Ashley Says:

    Jamie
I think you are the funniest person ever! I love animals and i absolutely hate to see abused animals that people don’t just cae about.

  351. Scotty Says:

I couldn’t get over the blue. I told Carissa that seeing it in person is like the difference between watching The Andy Griffith Show on your grandma’s tv, and seeing something on a new HD Plasma. We were on Carnival.

  352. Sharon Adams Says:

Scotty, what a wonderful vacation and the photographs are absolutely gorgeous! What a glorious world God has created for us and you were lucky enough to see alot more than the beauty of Missouri. Lucky You.

  353. Mary Wilson Says:

Thanks for the Kenny C. pics = was good to see him relaxed and really enjoying himself.

    Again thanks.

  354. Carissa Says:

George only looks better with age, doesn’t he? That Norma is one lucky lady!

  355. Kenny fan Says:

This happened last year, Aug. 17th to be exact.

  356. Scotty Says:

So I guess sometimes, it just DOES happen twice.

  357. Teresa Davis Says:

In the video, there’s a picture of George & a girl sitting at a piano. I think that’s his daughter Jenifer, who was killed in a car accident when she was 13. Does any one know for sure?

  358. Carolyn Evans Says:

I believe that is his wife Norma sitting at the piano. In The pictures I have seen of his daughter, she had dark hair. I’m so glad he has made a video for this song.

  359. Emily Says:

Kenny looks so short compared to the rest of the team. lol

  360. sara Says:

    hope it is good
    love
    kelly

  361. sara Says:

    hope it is good
    love
    sara

  362. carissa Says:

Kenny knows it too. I found this quote from him that I forgot to add:

“I quit growing too young to ever think about getting to have a shot at playing even in college, so this is about the most fun I can have.”

Poor Kenny, guess he’ll just have to settle with being a country superstar!

  363. Teresa Davis Says:

Thanks Carolyn…I’ve never seen a picture of his daughter. Plus, ya know George has always been very private regarding his daughter, it makes sense that he wouldn’t put a picture of her in the video.

  364. Teresa Davis Says:

I got $6.25 in my pocket. Wait, that’ll only get you one & a quarter corn dogs.

  365. Lea Ann Bulen Says:

Sorry Scotty but my money is on Carrisa on this one. The reason being is that OK think about it. You have been “dieting” or eating healthy and not eating as much so your stomach is going to have shrunk and will not be able to hold as much. And second of all I have a brother in law that is not any bigger than anything and he can put even the biggest person to shame when it comes to eating. So although you may think you are the bigger eater of the two of you, you do have to remember that she has how many years on you and her metabolism is going to be faster and she has speed and agility on her side too because she is bound and determind to do this. Also I agree with the tip jar thing I think you could collect quite a bit of money and if there is anything left over put it in the till for a rematch or donated it to the food bank, along with all of Uncle Scotty’s uneaten corndogs!!!!! hehe
    Sorry Uncle Scotty…….

  366. Kimberly Wise Says:

You never can tell these days, but I am with you I believe in that stuff to.

  367. Andrew Helmreich Says:

    i dont believe in bigfoot

  368. LAURA Says:

I DO THINK THAT IS SOMETHING OUT THERE BUT THE WOODS ARE JUST TO BIG TO SEARCH THOUGH .. JUST LIKE THE OCEAN THAT THEY ARE FINDING NEW FISH.

  369. Kimberly Says:

The video, huh it looks a little made up to me. People will do anything for fame. PS.-Could you please play melissa lawsons song.

  370. LAURA Says:

I DID SEE THAT ON I THINK THE HISTORY CHANNEL OR ANIMAL PLANT ONE NIGHT IT WAS INTERESTING LOOKING. THERE IS SOME STRANG ANIMAL IN TEXAS WHICH I HAVE LIVED THERE FOR FOUR YEARS. NIGHT TIME CAN GET STRANGE.

  371. Kimberly Says:

Personally I think you are both hot and I would pick wildflowers with either one of you.

  372. Jamie Mac Says:

Looky, looky… who has the most comments on their blog NOW:)

Thanks to everyone who commented, but Kimberly must have the quickest fingers in Clear Country, as she was the winner!!

    Thanks again!

    JMac

  373. Wendy Says:

Scotty I hate to see you blow you diet on this, I wish you could come up with a different food with less calories.

  374. Kim Olmstead Says:

The young lady at the piano with George is his daughter Jenifer. HIs niece Kara posts on the CMT message board and confirmed that it is Jenifer. It is so touching to see him share such a private part of his life! And….Jenifer looked an awful lot like Norma and she did have blonde hair.
George is like fine wine-isn’t he!?!? Gets better and better with age!

  375. Teresa Davis Says:

Thanks for sharing. It definitely makes the video even more touching.

  376. gene Says:

my vote is on Scottie – men rule

  377. Scotty Says:

Now I never actually used the word “diet”. I’ve just been eating healthier and working out a little more regularly. Of course twice is more regularly than what I was doing.

  378. Ryan Says:

I, too, got 13 out of 20. I missed almost the same questions as you (I got number 10, had a brain fart on number 9).

Congrats on your corndog victory, too. Poor girl didn’t stand a chance.

    -Ry

  379. Jamie M. Says:

    13 out of 20 – wrong ones -6,8,10,11,14,19,20…

    JM

  380. "Cowbell Thief" Says:

Your first clue is “Home of Perfectos”

  381. Lea Ann Bulen Says:

    Is it St Louis

  382. Wendy Hendren Says:

    Lafayette
    Square Park in St. Louis,
    Missoui

  383. Kimberly Wise Says:

There is a baseball club in St.Louis MO named the Perfectos. So maybe the home of the Perfectos is this baseball club and here is a contact for them mailto:stlperfectos@hotmail.com

  384. Abby Says:

    Faroh Field (on MU campus)

  385. Laura Says:

The Saint Louis Cardinals were known as the Perfectos before they adopted the name Cardinals in 1900. So I would guess that Busch Stadium is the home of the perfectos.

  386. kimberly Says:

The radio perfecto in uptown columbia. its a bistro of sorts

  387. "Cowbell Thief" Says:

    Laura, you have answered wisely!

The Perfectos was the second name for the cardinals (after national league browns). The club used it for a year, then a lady was heard commenting about the nice “shade” of Cardinal red the players wore. A local newspaper writer overheard this and started referring to the Perfectos as the Cardinals. Nobody in St. Louis liked the name Perfectos so it was changed to Cardinals… in the 1920’s a lady was doing a Cardinals fundraiser and as centerpieces she put together two cardinals on a bat, the team president saw this and the next year they officially adopted the bird on the bats for their uniforms, becoming the first team to have mascots.

Your next clue will be posted very soon. Keep checking back for more clues.

    Signed,

    “Cowbell Thief”

  388. Jamie Mac Says:

    Congrats Laura!!! And thank you!

For getting the first answer correct I’ll reward you with two field box seats to this Sunday’s Cardinals/Braves game at Busch Stadium…

Send me your information (full name, address, phone #) to my email and the tickets will be waiting for you at the station.

    Thanks again!

  389. jmac Says:

I bet the “Cowbell Thief” nabbed your camera too!!!

My suggestion, knowing you:), is to get a disposable camera so the next time you “misplace” your camera it will only cost you about 5-10 bucks!

  390. "Cowbell Thief" Says:

Your second clue is “supa cowabunga from way down unda.”

    GOOD LUCK! HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

  395. Diane Says:

I agree with jmac, whatever camera you end up getting, make sure it’s not be an expensive one!!!! I would upgrade from the disposable but not by much. A simple Canon would be good.

  396. carissa Says:

Okay okay I get it! History repeats itself. But I’m Hoping I learned my lesson this time! (Lesson being – I’m not allowed to have a camera at tailgates anymore!)

  397. carissa Says:

My DVR is set for Monday at 7:00, and we’ll see how good this show really is…

  398. Jennifer W Says:

Aww, poor Bessie, being held against her will somewhere in the wilds of Missouri! I hope you find her soon!

  399. Christal Says:

I say that is from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
    hahaha

  400. Christal Says:

How about Michaelangelo eating a blooming onion at outback steakhouse.

  401. Kim Says:

  402. Peggy Says:

  408. Christal Says:

  409. "Cowbell Thief" Says:

    Kim, you have answered wisely!

This quote is from the movie Back to the Beach, which was a 1987 comedy film starring Frankie Avalon and Annette with cameos by Stevie Ray Vaughn, Pee-Wee Herman, Bob Denver and Jerry Mathers.

Frankie was known as the Big Kauna and at the end of the film rode a wave called the “Supa Cowabunga from way down unda.”

I must say that I see alot of “wishful” thinking here from the Clear 99 Listeners. HAHAHAHAHAH!!! Australia/Keith Urban siting, really?

Your next clue will be posted soon!!!

    Signed,

    “Cowbell Thief”

  410. jmac Says:

    Congrats and THANKS Kim!!

    We are almost there…

    Jamie

  411. Shelby Porter Says:

I was the one who put up Truck #2. Thanks Uncle Scotty and Carissa.

  412. Monster Truck Fan Says:

I like the #6 photo. Nice color, huh?

  413. Shawna Says:

The number six truck reminds me of the truck on Jeepers Creepers. It’s Ugly and Scary!

  414. Jamie Mac Says:

Hmmmmm…. Starting to think Bessie and the “Cowbell Thief” are having WAY too much fun!!!

  415. Jamie Mac Says:

“IMO,” really?? I don’t even know what that stands for.. Ha!

  416. B to the Freeman Says:

idiot proof was my number one concern. Lets be realistic, if I can operate it, a chimp can as well.

I’d recommend a Nikon. I’d suggest a Cannon if you can’t find a decent Nikon. I’d go to Best Buy and whatever you get, get the service protection plan. I believe it’s around 100 dollars for 4 years. other than flat out loss…I’m pretty sure it covers everything.

I’ve had GREAT success with the Nikon. simple, effective to use, large screen, etc.

I mean, if you leave it under the seats at Aarowhead…you’re pretty much poop out of luck anyhow, but I refuse to buy anything but a Nikon ever again. All Nikon does is cameras. They don’t even do video cameras. Just point and click cameras. My father’s had them for 20 years and has always had awesome luck with them.

    just my two cents.

  417. Shawna Says:

The winning trucks are not even ugly. Two of them look better then the truck I drive. I should have submitted mine! Congrats to the winners!

  418. "Cowbell Thief" Says:

Third Clue: Bessie and I took a lazy trip through space and waved as we passed over Zambezi.

    Good Luck!!!! Hahahahahahahahah

    Signed,

  419. michele Says:

well the zambezi is a river in Africa so you must beflying over Africa but the twist is the lazy trip part ——–flying over Africa

  420. michele Says:

A lazy trip through space could imply the planetarium and you are waving as you fly past the zambezi in Africa

  421. Wendy Says:

At Zambezi Falls at big Surf water park.

  422. MICHELE Says:

YOU ARE GOING ON THE SPACE BOWL AT BIG SURF WATERPARK AND WAVING AT ZAMBEZI FALLS AS YOU PASS IT

  424. Jamie Mac Says:

  443. DJ Says:

    Carissa,
Did you like the one you had? If so why not go out and find one that is just like it or a step up?

  444. carissa Says:

I did like the one I had, but I wasn’t in love with it or anything. So I wanted to see if there was a better option out there… Plus, I don’t remember exactly which model it was, but maybe when I see it I’ll recognize it and I can start my search from there. Good idea, Thanks!

  445. Lu Says:

surprise surpirse, the queen of losing or breaking cameras and phones has done it again. Atleast you didn’t drop this one in water. My advice is to just take your boyfriends or ‘borrow’ your moms and forget to return it.

  446. Pat in PG Says:

Just wanted to let you know that I DID get my old Sara Evans album signed that evening. A friend of mine knew someone who knew someone who got it signed for me!!!! Needless to say, it’s on dilplay at my house. Thanks for showing it with the rest of your pictures.

  454. "Cowbell Thief" Says:

    Michele, you have answered wisely!

Emma, Delaney and Ava Rose have been watching over Bessie as Mom gets ready for the concert Friday night in St. Louis.

Since all five clues have been answered correctly, I will soon determine an appropriate meeting place where I shall return Bessie.

I have vastly underestimated the power of “Clear Nation,” and your concern for Little Miss Bessie.

    Signed,

    CowBell Thief

  455. Jamie Mac Says:

    Congrats and THANKS Michele!!

As a reward for answering the fifth and final clue correctly I’ve got two tickets to this Friday’s Martina Mcbride Concert from Verizon Wireless Amplitheatre in St. Louis.

Thanks everyone for ALL your help!!

    Jamie

  456. Carissa Says:

That is very cool Pat! I was hoping you’d be able to get it signed, thanks for sharing it with us!

  457. Carissa Says:

Shame shame Lu… I believe borrowing without returning would be called “stealing”

  458. Jamie Mac Says:

How did I know that’s where you were going with this:)

  459. carissa Says:

hehe What can I say? A girl can wish!

  460. Jamie Mac Says:

Don’t know if this qualifies, but our high school baseball coach’s name was “Rusty Nails.”

  461. Teresa Davis Says:

I know this doesn’t fit the topic, so don’t hold this against me. But earlier this year the Reds had a pitcher named Homer Bailey. He’s in the minors now ’cause he gave up too many of ‘em. If I come across an interesting football player’s name, per your instructions Mr. Cox, I’ll email it to you.

  462. "Cowbell Thief" Says:

    Mr. Mac,

I hear you will be out at Bengals Bar and Grill tomorrow for the “Finally Friday Kickoff.”

Bessie will be there waiting for you!

    Signed,

    CowBell Thief

  463. Jamie Mac Says:

uhhh… I think that was the point “Lu” was making! Shame on you, Little Miss Carissa:)

  464. Wendy Says:

Your pics are beautiful. Did you notice how short the Mayan Indians are??? My parents recently visited the Mayan Ruins, and my dad is 5′6, my mom 5′2 (I am even shorter :-( Dad said he felt like a giant! I know where I am traveling to next:-)

  465. Scotty Says:

Good call Wendy! I’m going to find a place to go that will make me feel skinny.

  466. Hueninks Says:

Carissa, we know you can beat Scotty, you just need the right food stuff – next time, how about a contest eating Janet’s smashed potatoes?!!! I think a belly rub might have helped, too

  467. micha Says:

CAN YOU PLEASE PLAY SOMEBODY FIND ME A PREACHER!!!!

  468. carissa Says:

Mmmm… Scotty would be in Big Trouble!

  469. Michelle Says:

    Scotty,
I thought that this one was so obvious for a “football name” that I can’t believe it took me so long to put two and two together.
    Stryker Sulak

He’s even a Tiger, and what else do you do with a name like Stryker but be an awesome defender!

  470. tim Says:

Don’t trust any photo. Anything is possible in photoshop. I could make the you the Incredible Hulk with two beautiful brunettes on each arm, standing on the moon.

  471. Jamie Mac Says:

That could be fun! Give it a try:)

  472. Dj Says:

So what did you ever decide about the camera?

  473. James C Says:

Waylon, Willie, Travis Tritt, and Martina

  474. Kayla Elizabeth Says:

    steve earle

  475. Sheila Wieman Says:

I am interested in adopting a solider. What do I need to do?

  476. Sheila Wieman Says:

I am interested in adopting a soliderl. What do I need to do?

  477. Jason Says:

This is Jason Eaton who is this haha?

  478. Marjorie Says:

    Carissa,
I did not realize how old Arnel is!
I talked to you this morning and said that I thought he was in his early 20’s but I checked out the Journey site and found that he is actually 41! He was born in 67 can you believe it. He looks so young.

  479. carissa Says:

Lucky! He can sing, plus he doesn’t age!

  480. Marjorie Says:

I agree, I am jealous. Hope I look that good at 41!

  481. Jamie Mac Says:

That’s a really good, inspirational story! GO EAGLES:)

  482. Kelli Says:

    Kelli

  483. Sharon Gardner Says:

I absolutely love the Charlie bit my finger video. Keep them coming!!

  484. jean Says:

Congrats!!!!! some day she will wish she had stayed on stage longer with Kenny!!!! FANTASTIC concert!!! Kenny was on fire!

  485. Jamie Mac Says:

How Cool!!! btw… really dig that shirt Kenny is wearing:)

  486. carissa Says:

Oh good I’m glad you liked them! I was hoping people would!! I will post some more soon

  487. Jamie Mac Says:

29 pair… I get one pair of skivvies each year for my birthday!

  488. GitRdone Says:

I agree! This shows good sportsmanship & I think we need more of that, but sadly, I’m seeing less & less of it. I think they are teaching our kids that they don’t have to have repect for the opposing team, no matter what the outcome & that is wrong! We definitely need more of the teams on all of the levels shaking and/or slapping hands & saying something like, “Good game!”, just to show evrybody how important it is to be a good sport.

  489. Katie Says:

I think that it would be a great thing if all players, of any game, should shake hands after a game.. It shows sportsmen ship.. A game is a game, and I think that it would be a good idea for this to happen!!!

  490. MikeyW Says:

As a single guy, I want to have enough so that I can go two weeks without doing laundry…since that is one a day minimum…I have about 16-18 :-) .

And why are they called pairs? You only wear one at a time :-) .

  491. carissa Says:

Hey Mikey – that is really funny, Scotty and I were just talking about that same thing. And a pair of jeans? why do we use the word “pair”? Makes no sense to us either!

  492. Nancy Gipson Says:

Thank You for all you do!

  493. Lauri Says:

Since my lovely son cannot manage to use the hamper I put in his room and our dog likes to chew up his underwear, I buy about two value packs a month. I may be driving up the numbers just based on my buying volume alone.

PS anyone that might want a blind, one-eyed, slightly brain damaged, underwear destroying terrier, feel free to let me know. She is really cute.

  494. Melissa Neff Says:

    Hi Scotty and Carissa,
My son Jackson is in the third grade at Orearville. It is a little rural school in the country by Marshall. I think there a maybe 40 kids in the whole school. They would be so excited if you guys came to see them. Thanks for your time.

    Melissa Neff

  495. Jamie Mac Says:

Whatcha talkn bout… I’m not going to be on the TV tonight!? Actually, I go by MACdreamy though:) HA!

  496. Christal Ferrell Says:

Oh I tried to comment you Thursday but my internet at work wasnt working correctly. I am also the biggest fan of Greys Anatomy!! I wasnt moving off my couch for anything during the premier! And Im sure you also almost had heart failure when it started and McDreamy died in Merideth’s dream! Thank God he didn’t or we would all be heartbroken even if they do have a difficult love affair! I can’t wait til this Thursday now! I just Love that show and how they put it together and Merideth’s telling of lifes lessons! Ok Ok, I’ll stop now. lol

  497. julie andrews Says:

  499. Karla & The ESA Ladies Says:

We would love to win this package, we worked really hard at a event we had last weekend for Camp Hickory Hill. We could use some girl time!

  507. Rhiannon Says:

    PICK ME! PICK ME!
Boy would my husband love me!!!

  508. Amy Kincanon Says:

I really like new contest, it is so mush fun! thanks everybody!

  509. Teresa Says:

We like it too! Now, if we can just get Jamie Mac to remember to give out the word at the 2:20pm.

  510. Jamie Mac Says:

Teresa, you know I was just testing Clear Country to see if they were paying attention… Turns out THEY WERE:)!

  511. Pauline Says:

I think the number of skivvies would depend on the romantic status of the guy, a married man probably has fewer than a single man, but the married mans would be cleaned regularly and hole-less..lol :)

  512. Betty Volkart Says:

I love this game! It is keeping me paying attention all day. I don’t know how the number of points affects prizes or how they are given out….but I am doing it anyway!

  513. Betty Volkart Says:

I have noticed a BIT of a problem around 2:20….LOL

  514. leann Says:

how are the prizes drawn? do you call people who won and will you announce winners on air?

  515. Teresa Davis Says:

    Leann,

If you have any questions, go to the “contact us” link at the top of this page. Hope you’re enjoying the game.

  516. Brian Kirmse Says:

Thank you for sharing your experience! My brother and I looked for you at the race, but couldn’t find you… from the looks of your video, we were only a few sections to your left (148-row 13). Hope you enjoyed the experience. GO CARL!

  517. Lisa Says:

Let my husband & I be a kid again. He needs a break & teaching deserves w/e rewards. MIZZZZOOOOOUUUURAH!

  518. Jamie Mac Says:

Starting to think she’s not all that crazy! Though, probably NOT the best idea to make her mad:)

    Great video!

  519. Jessica Says:

LOVE Miranda!!!! Been a few for several years. Hopefully this song will show people a new side of her and actually get her some more radio play!

  520. carissa Says:

Yep, we must have just missed each other. I was at section 132 row 13!

  521. Amy Kincanon Says:

I think she has a really good voice, and alot of talent.

  522. melissa Says:

like a million others, just a tiger fan who does nothing but works all the time and gets nothin’ but grief in return!! Would love a break.

    GO TIGERS!!!!!!!

    M I Z—-Z O U

  523. LESLIE ROSE Says:

i WAS 26 YEARS OLD WHEN WE BEAT NEBRASKA OUT THERE.AT THAT RATE, I MIGHT NOT LIVE TO SEE IT AGAIN.

  524. Leann Halderman Says:

i love the New Video by Miranda she got a GREAT voice. that is is pertty song. may god bless you all

  525. darin Says:

wheres our group photo? the hawkeye gang.

  526. jmac Says:

SOooo very true! Your organizational skills look much like mine…

  527. Kathy Says:

It would be nice if you could enter the words the next day or a day or two later. It is not always possible, with my busy schedule, to sit down at a computer & enter the words on that day. I do listen & write them down. So…it would be nice if you had a day or more to get them in your system!

  528. Channing Black Says:

I wanna drink $50 on you guys!

  529. Amy Kincanon Says:

HI sometimes i miss the word you give out at the various times of the day, it would be neat if you had a muiltible choice say like three answers to choose from, what do you think? thank you very much.

  530. Vicky Swanson-Starke Says:

Hey dont forget about us here in Camdenton–we can hear you loud and clear at the Lake !! (Vicky formerly from Columbia)

  531. Michele Says:

Nothing Like attending a NASCAR race in person. I look forward to that weekend every year. I got to KC on Thursday afternoon and managed to get 14 different driver/NASCARpersonalities autographs, including Carl’s! I also get to the track when the gates open on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Yes, I am addicted and I bet you are even more addicted after going to Kansas.

  532. Joan M. Says:

Your server is not responding this early in the morning.

  533. Teresa Davis Says:

Soon you’ll have a chance to win 2 tickets in the front row to the Rodney Carrington show October 18th with the Word That Wins. It’ll pop up soon on the prize scroll. Just keep checking back. If you’re an Insider, we’ll send you an email when it’s up & running. If you’re not an Insider yet, you can sign up right here at clear99.com. It’s free and a way to keep up-to-date on Clear 99 news.

  534. Brenda Riley Says:

I agree with Kathy when she “Says:
    October 3rd, 2008 at 2:28 pm
It would be nice if you could enter the words the next day or a day or two later. It is not always possible, with my busy schedule, to sit down at a computer & enter the words on that day. I do listen & write them down. So…it would be nice if you had a day or more to get them in your system!” Due to issues at work and my families health issues I have not been able to enter the words I have heard since I could not get to a computer in the hospital.

  535. Betty LaaRoe Says:

What do you do with the points after you get them? I don’t understand how to play this game.

  536. Jamie Mac Says:

Bet mine was worse! Whoa… and you all thought my handwriting was bad.

  537. Jamie Mac Says:

    Betty,

Click on the “use points” feature whenever you have enough points to collect a prize you want. It will let you know how many points the item is worth and how many points you have earned.

    Hope this helps!

    JMac

  538. Teresa Davis Says:

    Betty,

Like Jamie said, you can enter sweepstakes with your points – those are some of the larger items you’ll see on the prize scroll. But, you can also buy items with your points. Currently we have some CD’s available and movie passes. There is no drawing with these items, you actually buy them with your points. Once you do that, you’ll be notified to come by the station & pick up the item you bought. It’s easy & lots of fun. Hope this helps.

  539. Christina Says:

Is anyone else having problems with the website when I click on the “click here” above it goes to a blue screen that is blank. It was doing this yesterday and all morning. Thanks, CS

  540. Teresa Davis Says:

    Christina,

I just tried it and the page came up. It does go to a blue screen for a moment, but then the Word That Wins page comes up.

  541. Anna Says:

Would love to see him… just had my birthday and that would be a great way to celebrate!

  542. LISA Says:

I WOULD ABSOLUTELY LOVE TO SEE GORGEOUS RODNEY AGAIN!! I JUST HAD MY 25TH BIRTHDAY AN DIDN’T GET TO CELEBRATE IT. I HAD TO STAY HOME AN TAKE MY MOTHER SHE FELL AN BROKE HER ANKLE IN 3 PLACES 5 DAYS BEFORE MY B-DAY. THIS WOULD BE SO MUCH FUN. I HOPE TO GET TICKETS SOON IF NOT THEN I HOPE YOU PICK ME IF YOU HAVE A GIVE AWAY!!! THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO!! KCLR ROCKS!! I LOVE YOU SCOTTY!!

  543. Shaun Dakin Says:

It is actually not true that having a cell phone will protect you. I have 1000’s of members that complain that campaigns call their cell phones.

    Why?

Politicians are exempt from ALL types of calls. There is NO law protecting voters from politicians calling them on their cell phones (like there is for commercial orgs).

How do they get your number?

State registration for voting. If you put your cell number on the voter registration form, that number will be in the state voter database and candidates will then buy that list and use it for robo calls.

Volunteering or contributing to campaigns’. If you give them your cell phone number they will call you on it. AND they will sell your data to other campaigns.

    Thanks!

    Cheers,

  544. WENDY Says:

Do you list who wins what after the drawings as they come up?

  545. Teresa Says:

    Wendy…

Click on the “contact us” at the top of this page. Thanks!

  546. WENDY Says:

    How fun !!

  547. Tina Says:

I would also like to know the answer to Wendy’s question……..thanx

  548. Teresa Davis Says:

I totally agree! Love Miranda and this video.

  549. Rachel Says:

That video was funny! He wasn’t a very good salesman.I don’t think I would have bought a 25$ sack for a cat. I love dirty jobs, he’s great on that show.

  550. carissa Says:

Wow! That stinks! At least this way you can still block SOME of the calls… seems like there’s always a loop-hole somewhere. Thanks for the info!!

  551. Teresa Says:

    Sure Tina…

When you click on “Sweepstakes…” then “Closed” you will see winners listed next to the contests. Please note that after the closing of any contest, there is a brief period in which we must confirm the eligibility of the winner. In this event, the winner will not yet be posted or you may see “Pending Notification” next to the contest under closed sweepstakes. The winner will usually be posted within a week from the ending of the contest. Also, when you are looking under closed sweepstakes, be sure to check all the pages as sometimes the contests may not be in the order of the dates they closed.

  552. Kayla Elizabeth Says:

so funny! my favorite part is how the cat doesnt eve like the thing. he sure tried his best to sell it though.

  553. Jamie Mac Says:

Kayla, I agree I thought he tried everything he could to sell it, and I commend him for not just throwing up his hands and saying, “yeah, I know it’s a paper sack for 25 bucks:)”

    Jamie

  554. Tina Says:

    Thank you Teresa!

  555. Ifurbee Says:

I wold love to see Rodney. I have never seen him. It would be awesome. Pick me

  556. MikeyW Says:

As a single guy, the hardest thing for me is to buy things in small enough quantities so that they don’t go bad before they get used. When my son was living with me, he and his friends could wipe out a months supply of food in one weekend…so I bought big and had a lot in the freezer. Not anymore!

  557. MikeyW Says:

One of the reasons that I got rid of a home phone is all of the junk phone calls I recieved even though I have been on the National No Call List for years. I have never received a political call on my cell phone and I have been a registered voter for 30 years (oops, telling my age there :-) ). Probably just jinxed myself, of course :-) .

  558. Tina Smith (redimpala) Says:

Hey Carissa. We would have talked a LOT longer this morning if I would have known you were a Journey fan too. I got to see them in 2006 and loved them then. Of course NO ONE can replace Steve Perry, but if you close your eyes, Arnel’s voice is definately close to the original. Thanks again for the win on the Mizzou Party. I’m excited.

  559. Betty Says:

The 4:20 word on Saturday the 18th just does not work for me! I am sure I am spelling it correctly

  560. Marcia Says:

    That was Excelent!
Jewel needs to give some hints to Delana Harvick!
She has a hard time trying to get Kevin!

  561. Janet Says:

    That was wonderful! Great Pranks

  562. Rita Says:

Congrats Carl and Kate!! I would like to tell Carl we traveled 530 miles back east this last summer and prouldy displayed our 99 decals all over our Ford Explorer. So the east coast got a little midwest culture of sorts to say I know that guy!!

  563. Heather W. Says:

Congrats to the couple! My Husband and I go to KS every year to watch the races. We take this time as our Anniversary gift to eachother. This year was the first time that we got to go into the pits. I was also able to talk to one of his Nationwide crew members. He and I went to school together. It was an awesome experience.

  564. Janet Says:

How do you win any of the prizes? I have playing this from the very beginning and have yet to even win anything. Do you have a list of winners. I am starting to get discouraged.

  565. Teresa Says:

    Hey Janet…

You use your reward points to enter the sweepstakes for prizes. You can also use reward points to actually buy things, these are called “trade-ins”. When you click on each prize listed on the prize carousel, you’ll be able to see if it’s a sweepstakes or a trade-in. When you click on “Sweepstakes…”then “closed”, you’ll see winners listed next to the contests. Good luck!

  566. Jan Says:

Is there any way to get the bonus word that was given at Kaldi’s since I could not be in Columbia at that time.

  567. penny Says:

  569. michelek Says:

Who wears down their batteries! Dorks! lol

  570. Diane Says:

    You all make me LAUGH!!!!!!!!!
You do win the DORK award….

  571. Tina Says:

Tell me about the bonus reward points for Clear 99 Insiders. I tried to submit the word, but it kept saying it was incorrect or spelled wrong. I was really looking for a halloween treat. So tell me, was this an Uncle Scotty Halloween trick? Or? Hope yours was great!

  572. Brenda Forsee Says:

Is Carl having a autograph session in Columbia this fall or winter?

  575. carissa Says:

Wow… you’ve confused me! but I can tell you definitely watch the show!

  576. longtimeviewer Says:

I have watched Y&R for 25 years and still love the show. It’ll be nice to see some of the oldtimers come back!

  577. Jamie Mac Says:

    Penny,

Yes, I remember that episode:) and believe it aired again this past Sunday on the “Best of” segment. Think my favorite was when the crew got attacked while at a monkey rehabilitation center in South Africa. There was one monkey that wouldn’t let them out of their housing and you could tell they were seriously concerned for their lives… a few people were actually bitten by the rabid monkey. Reminds me of college when I’d get chased by all the geese on campus. Now those are some mean little animals!!!

  578. Sandy Says:

That picture is hilarious! Poor Carissa!

  579. Brandi Says:

Okay, I have no clue who Marge is. I’m not familiar with her. There’s no clean way to say this…Ashley inplanted some of Victors sperm that was frozen without Victor knowing until late in the pregnancy. Nikki and Brad were married at one time. I’m sure if it started out as an affair or not. I’m sure it did….It always does. Paul and Nikki have never been together that I can think of. Hope that helps! So, who do you know on the show?

  580. carissa Says:

Thank you Brandi! Your a big help. So, Ashley is kind of wacko, I see. I can’t believe they might be getting back together. Victor went from utterly depressed to another girl in seconds! What a womanizer! Marge, yeah I’m clueless on who she is and why in the world she looks so much like Katherine, hopefully we’ll find that out soon. JT is the one that I know. We don’t keep in touch anymore, but he is a really nice guy and I must say, cute too! There’s a picture of us at a wedding on the link above. Thanks again for your help!

  581. Kyle Says:

Tell her to dump her old boyfriend and to date me!

  582. Diana Says:

Scotty, thanks for saving the computer!!!

  583. Jamie Mac Says:

    Poodle skirt…Mmmmm…

  584. Melissa Says:

How aweful that Carissa would ask Scotty to go inside and risk his life! What a man Scotty! You two crack me up!

  585. Diana Says:

Do I have to stay for the entire parade to see you guys at the end??

  586. Carissa Says:

We’re not sure yet, but likely! :)

  587. Cherie Says:

I like the pink one with one strap and the one she is holding the trophy with

  588. Deborah Mackey Says:

    Way to go Ryan…Congratulations

  590. Julie Says:

    Way to go!!

  591. leanna Says:

When is the game going to be ending? Just curious so i know when to use up points or keep saving

  592. Rosalyn Says:

First game I got 14032 points. I’ll try again. Fun game

  593. Teresa Davis Says:

  595. Sherry Says:

That’s my boy!!! Great job Ryan!!!

  596. Scotty Says:

I was going to put my high score on here, but then Carissa would see it, and not get anything accomplished until she beat me…

  597. carissa Says:

Good Job Rosalyn! You might as well as give it up Scotty. Currently my high is 55,886 and I’m only getting better

  598. competitoralso Says:

    37,000 something!!! I’m getting there.

  599. Diane Says:

I tried your game Carissa, my high score on my first try was 75,160–I think that means I spend too much time on games and not enough on work:)

  600. carissa Says:

Holy Cow Diane! You killed me! I’ve played several times so far and i still haven’t got that high…. I know what I’ll be doing all day today now, Thanks!

  601. Wendy Says:

I heard you talking about this game this morning and had to check it out. My first time and I scored 59,480.

  602. Wendy Says:

Okay had to try one more time, 109,951. Now I have to get back to work.

  603. Aunt Lori Says:

I knew you could do it Ryan!

  604. Scotty Says:

156,198, and I’m quitting now. I just snapped at Carissa for interupting me.

  605. Cindy Says:

  627. brenda Says:

carissa, i have watched the show for a very long time and somethings i do miss very now and then but sure to come about mrs.c marge is kay and she has a memory problem i wish they would bring back the other collen instead of this one. and i have missed adrain? guess he left the show? and phyllis knows how it feels that sharon is getting to close to nick! shoe is on the other foot now huh? she broke sharon and nick up. does not feel so good. victor it did not take very to hop in the sack with ashley, guess he is done greving now.sure glad that you brought this up cuase i feel what goes around comes around.one more thing i am just waiting for the cat is out of the bag about cloe`s baby and then lilly and caine will be back together. billy and cloe belong together.and i hope paul does not get hurt by nikki. adam deserves what he gets, hope heather sees what adam is really like before its to late.well better close now i think i have covered alot what i feel about the show.i forgot a word up there but everyone will understand.

  628. KATHY Says:

I WATCHED THE DVD – LOVED IT!!!!

  629. Melissa Says:

My daughter and I heard about this program last year and we adopted someone and we really enjoyed getting things together for him to enjoy while he was away from home. We are doing it again this year. I’m glad Scotty and Carissa has put this together and I hope it’s a major success!!!

  630. carissa Says:

Hey Brenda, I know that marge is Kay right now, but is she an old twin? or old friend that just happens to look exactly like Katherine? I am still confused on where she came from. I wasn’t watching when Nick cheated on Sharon with Phyllis, so I actually have sympathy for her, but I’m sure if I had seen how Phyllis acted before I wouldn’t. Nick is so hard to be mad at! I want to blame him for being scandalous on the both of them, but he somehow he’s still likeable. I do think Sharon is too weak and whiney, but Phyllis is manipulative. Yes, Ashley and Victor that was a relationship that turned serious overnight! I’m worried about Paul too, Nikki could easily just be on the rebound. What ever happened to that cop girl Paul was dating? I must have missed their break up? I actually like the new Colleen! I think she’s cute. I agree that Chloe and Billy should definitely be together, and so should Cane and Lilly. Adam is vindictive, and I feel bad for Heather when everything comes out! She has no clue that her world is about to turn upside down. Finally, Jack is getting on my nerves… he’s pathetic! thanks for writing Brenda. I’m glad to see that my mom and I aren’t the only two people who talk about these characters like they’re real people… :) ha!

  631. carissa Says:

Really? I still have yet to see it! I’m going to rent it soon

  632. tracy Says:

Hey, Carissa. Maggie, the cop Paul was dating was let go from the show, so that means that on the show they played it that she got a promotion and moved away. I like the old Colleen better, too. I can’t stand Sharon, she is a whiney, crybaby and needs to get a life. I love Phyllis cuz she’s so manipulative and devious. That’s what soaps are all about or they wouldn’t be any good, they would be boring.

  633. Sharon Says:

Hi! We ‘d just like to share our Kids website with you … Ziggity Zoom. It’s also for young kids and it’s both Fun & Educational. Ziggity Zoom was recently selected by the ALA as an exceptional kids site that they are adding to their “Great Sites for Kids” list. http://www.ziggityzoom.com

  657. Nita Says:

  661. Lisa Says:

  674. Nikki Says:

Obviously you don’t love Taylor or you wouldn’t be dissing her and picking team Joe. So pick a side. Taylor doesn’t want fans like you little kid.

  675. Terry Says:

Catfish Corner has them, JMac! Anytime you want to throw some down, you can call on me! I’m addicted, too! I first tried them on a business trip down south. They can be found easier down there because they’re a southern thing. But, Catfish Corner does have them.

Yeah, Scotty says the same thing about Catfish Corner. Guess I’m going to have to check them out.

Leah, have talked to a few people who don’t like Hooters’ pickles… I like the spear pickles more than the sliced though… Tried some at Smokin Chicks the other day, and they were pretty good!

  682. michelek Says:

  683. Julia Says:

Yeah! If you truly loved Taylor you would not be saying that stuff and you would NOT have picked team Joe

  684. Julia Says:

Yeah! If you truly loved Taylor you would not be saying that stuff and you would NOT have picked team Joe! I totally agree with Nikki!

  688. Sandy F Says:

I heard a rumor that Carl got married this weekend? Any truth to this??

  689. Jamie Says:

Congrats to Carl on his wedding this past weekend!

  690. Wesley Says:

I started taking guitar lessons last fall, and I’m still not very good(probably because i had to quit taking lessons for other reasons and now i dont really play that much), but the easiest song to play that i know, is Sweet Home Alabama. The rythym/backup part is very easy. Its only three chords and a very easy strum pattern. A couple more to try is Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash and the backup part for Living Our Love Song by Jason Michael Carroll.

  691. carissa Says:

What a great group of songs AND they’re easy!? That is exciting. Thank you so much, Wesley!

  692. brenda Says:

carissa, congradutions on get a guitar, i learned from my father i cannot read notes play by ear. and if you learn the basic cords d,g,a7 things will come easier also. there are books also for learning the gutiar. use liquid band aid or check with any music store put across your fingers before playing.but if you get past the hurt it does not hurt much.my first lesson i learned the wildwood flower.good luck drop me e-mail on how you are doing. please.

  693. Travis Says:

Congrats on picking up the guitar. I’ve been playing for about a dozen years myself and it is by far my favorite hobby. There’s nothing better than playing music. The advice I give beginners is… First, fork over the money for lessons from a qualified instructor for at least a year. Teaching yourself is possible but it is difficult and frustrating. A good instructor will not only teach you how to play but will also teach you the theory behind the music which is invaluable. Unfortunately I don’t have any recomendations for instructors in COMO but i’m sure the various music stores around town have some qualified instructors. Second, clip the finger nails on your left hand. Long finger nails just won’t work. Third, focus on the basics to begin with. Learn how to play the basic major chords…A, B, C, D, E, F, G….and practice switching back and forth between the chords and getting them to ring clean. Fourth, practice, practice, practice. You should practice at least an hour a day every day in the beginning. Learning how to play guitar is a long, slow, and painful process but it is absolutely worth the effort in the end. Oh, don’t worry about the painful finger thing, it will go away in about a week or so if you are practicing for an hour every night. Just have to get the calluses built up.

  694. Jonathan Says:

If you can handle “Free Fallin”, check out the website “Countrytabs.com” if you’ve never heard of it. You have to register but you can do so for free. It has just about any country song you can think of. When you bring up a song, it will show you the lyrics and the chords to play along with the lyrics. If you roll your mouse over the chord, it will pop up a diagram of how to play that chord. (This is the case with most songs, but not all). Its a good way to practice chords without the boredom of memorization. Hope it helps! (PS…most of the songs are real simple, 3 chord country as they say!)

  695. Carissa Says:

You all were so much help! Thank you.

Brenda, I will definitely be picking up some of that liquid band-aid stuff!

I agree with you Travis, I should get an instructor. I’ve been trying to teach myself chords, and it is very frustrating! One hour a day huh…? I believe it, but Ouch! I will try my best! Thanks for all the other tips too.

And once I learn a few chords, Jonathan, I will be making my way to countrytabs.com, for sure. I hadn’t heard of that site, thanks for the heads up. I’m excited to get to the point where I can play numerous songs!

Thanks again to everyone who emailed and called as well. You all are great!

  696. Kevin Says:

Learning to play is a funny thing, you can think your getting it then you hear other people play the same thing you are and wonder, why does it sound beter when they play it? I had a freind/teacher have me get a small recorder and turn it on when I practiced at home. It really seemed to help to be able to play it back and listen to what I had just played and what needed to work on. Good luck and don’t give up! Oh abd BTW anotehr picker told me a little beer makes you play better LOL!

  697. carissa Says:

That’s a good idea. I do notice my “free falling” does not sound like anyone else’s yet….

So, Beer makes you play better, or just makes you THINK you’re playing better?? haha!

  698. brenda Says:

scotty and carissa, well on sunday evenings on dish net. rfd. they have hee haw back on and my children and i watch it.and i understand it, It also comes on thursday evenings also. but that is one of the old show we watch together. also the andy griffith show.jr. samples is really funny. and seeing the little pigs dancing sometimes while the singers are singing.or playing instrumental tunes.

Our oldest daughter loves the Andy Griffith Show, she’ll watch hours & hours of it. Little House on the Prairie is another show she watches. Our son loves The Greatest American Hero, it was his daddy’s favorite 80’s show. There were only 3 seasons of it and we have all 3.

Now it’s time to watch and see…

  705. Nathan Says:

Where is the Andy Griffith Show amongst all of them…did I miss it? That is a top 10 easy!!

  706. chelsea Says:

I dont really think there should be sides in this. Taylor was dumped and she was hurt but honestly i htink she is over it. I do however think that Joe was being a little immature by doing ot over an extremely short phone call. But i like them both and i dont think it is that big of a deal….i honsly think that her fans are taking it harder than she did.

  707. jmac Says:

I got GOOSEBUMPS from watching this!

  708. VERA Says:

I THOUGHT THE WHOLE SEGMENT WAS WONDERFUL AND I THINK WHAT EVER YOU DO FOR ST JUDES IS A MIRCLE IN ITS SELF.IF IT WEREN’T FOR PEOPLE AND RADIO STATIONS LIKE YOU THOSE KIDS WOULD HAVE NOTHING.

  709. Scotty Says:

That’s nice Vera, thanks. This weekend we heard that Country music listeners have given something like $350 MILLION to St. Judes since the Country Cares program started 20 years ago. Clear 99 listeners are a part of that. Pretty awesome!

  710. Heather Says:

My friend sent this to me this morning and I cried here at work reading it. I have 3 young kids and it just breaks my heart that babies have to go through this and could not imagine what this Mom was going through and for the Firemen to do this for the little boy was incredible. Thanks for posting this.

  711. Jamie Mac Says:

    Heather,

It was my pleasure to post! For me, it kind of puts everything into perspective.. we all have our bad days, but when you read something like this it just makes you think it could be so much worse.

You read all the bad press everyday and see it on the nightly news… really wish we could see or hear more of these types of stories. Stories about people going out of their way to help one another or maybe just brighten someones day.

    Jamie

  712. Di Says:

What a cool Trip and you got to see Keith Urban!!! I’ve never heard of the famous ducks either, so that was interesting. I hope you raise lots of money for the kids at St. Judes.

Terry Tate “Office Linebacker” has to be the funniest on that list, even though it took third. If you have not seen these, you can find most of them on youtube. Absolutely hilarious!

  716. Juliet Schultz Says:

I must tell you about my Aunt. My Aunt found love and was married 10 years and her husband was 10 years her junior. Diagnosed with Cancer while in Iraq as a private contractor he was sent home and died within the year. My aunt nursing and careing for him. My aunt was 65 when Larry died. He was 55. I flew to Florida to be with her and help her with arrangements. What hurt her the most was that she had hesitated to marry Larry because of the age difference…he would have none of that…and here she was a widow and alone at 65 years. Two years later, after some initial prompting, she decided to try on-line for companionship – she didn’t see herself as the bar scene kind! The fourth or fifth coffee date some months later she met a lovely man, widowed himself and they are in her words “like peas in a pod”. The first time i knew it was serious i rang in the morning and she sounded terribly tired…i asked her why…she was ‘necking’ in the car outside her condo till 3am!!! Im so happy for them both. It works for some and she did not have to face her worst fear…being an old widow with no one to share her life with.

  717. Donna Barnes Says:

I would love to win this! All the kids are grown and this would be a great way for us all to get together to watch the game!

I need a night out like this, mother of teenagers. Help!

  726. Amy Says:

I met my soul mate online. I had had several unsuccessful meetings, and had kinda given up when I got an email from true.com. Jeff and I started chatting and found out we had a lot in common, including our birthday and middle name. We have been together now for almost a year and happy as ever. I recommend online dating all the time. However, safety is ALWAYS 1st. My rules where, we met in a public place and I would let a friend or relative know where I was and when I arrived home safe. I also did a background check on everyone before I would go out with them. Yes, I would go to MO’s CASE.NET and plug in their name. If they had any violence charges or anything of that nature they were scratched off the list immediately.

    Hello Carissa,
I look at you and wish I could hang out with you everyday, your a big star in my life right next to Taylor Swift. Can you tell me where you learned to play your guitar? Because I have a blue one and have learned the basic notes but I have a broken string so I can’t do anything on it right now. My cousin Ashlea (Ashley) Clark has taught me and is still mentoring me in guitar but I want to know where to go to get the music books. Otherwise I will wait longer and continue my Flute and pick up the smallest of the Flute family the Picallo (I think thats how you spell it but oh well). I hope you continue on being this good.

  753. kelli williamson Says:

I think i got this in 3rd grade, from a kid that wasn’t in my class. however, I never found out who this kid really was, two guys claimed it to be theirs.

    roses might be red
    violets might be blue
you might be the prettiest girl
    I might have ever knew.

    lillies might be white
    sumflower might be yellow
but i know that i’m right
when i say, i love you.

from your poet!! from the other class!!

  754. kelli williamson Says:

another one i found is this, it was written my sophmore year in sturgeon from a guy i was dating whom was already out of school. I was attending sturgeon high school.

    dear honeybear,
Sometimes life will lead us down a path that we would have never chosen. Sometimes those are good and sometimes those are bad. When I met you my life turned around for the best, and I would not trade you for anything or anyone. You are my rock, you are my princess on a white horse, you are my love, the love of my life and i don’t ever want you to forget this. I just thought i would inform you of exactly how much you mean to me.
    All my love,
    *******

This gentleman and I continued to date for a while, and went thru a lot of life changing events together, however, we did end up breaking up, and when we run into each other, we act as tho life has never let us drift apart. Just as good of friends now as we ever were. Our relationship was built off a 5 year friendship, and those are the best you can ever have!

  755. BJ Says:

My son started kindergarten this year and has already become quite the little Romeo. I was home recuperating from surgery in October when he came in with a small piece of paper that read “I love you” He told me this was from him to me, but when I turned the paper over it read “love Brittney”

He relunctantly admitted this was a note a little girl gave him, but he wanted me to know he loved me!

  854. Rosemary Corley Says:

Since I only 5 to choose from I will
vote for George Strait and Julianne
Hough but I would like to see some
new names and faces on the list rather than the same one year after
year and would like to be able to vote for someone who knows what a
country song is, rather than the
kind that Keith Urban and Carrie
Underwood comes out with. I know that Carrie knows the difference but
her advisors don’t. I would prefer to vote for Blake Shelton, Ray Scott, Rodney Adkins and even Trace
Atkins. But no one asked me, so I
will make a vote for those who are
only choice year after year. No doubt either about Brad Paisley being country and a very good artist but just like to see a few
other good artists given a chance
    too. Keith Urban belongs in a more R & R category. R.Corley

She gets so excited when she comes on the radio, and she knows the words to a lot of her songs!! (SHE’S 4!!!) Anyway, I tried to get tickets to the concert in St.Louis, but they were sold out. I was so disappointed b/c I knew that she would be so stinkin’ excited. That’s what I meant by …the things that you do for your children. I didn’t dare tell her I tried to get tickets, b/c she would cry and bug me about going….probably for the rest of her life. If ANYONE, has any other way to get tickets, I would be in debt to you forever!!! All I want to do is make her day…I love that feeling of being the best mom ever! Thanks for reading!!

I can’t believe that Julianne Hough beat out Jake Owen as Top New Artist for the year. In my opionion there’s no comparision in Talent and Singing ability..

  885. ... Says:

My husband and I attended the funeral of his great aunt. What got us tickled was that her grandson sang a song for her. Two things were funny about that: 1) he didn’t sing terribly well (granted, could have been emotional stress) 2) the song was from the female perspective. It didn’t take long before we were behaving like children, elbowing each other, looking at the other cousins and trying not to snicker out loud. You could feel the pew shaking. Every now and then someone would shoot us a look, so we just would try not to look in his/her direction any more. By the time the widower walked down the aisle to leave the chapel, we were in tears, but it was b/c we were tickled and trying to catch our breath (it wasn’t just us, either, we corrupted a couple others nearby). When the widower looked at me, I practically started bawling b/c I felt like a complete jack ass for behaving so badly–and b/c he looked so darned pitiful, as would be expected. I always wondered if he thought something like, “Boy, I didn’t know she cared that much!”
If you use this story in any way, please leave my name off to protect the innocent (and us). ; )

  886. Lynda Says:

My brothers and sister and I go one of my brother’s ex-wife’s father’s funeral. We have known the family all our lives and it was the respectful thing to do. My sister and I show up to the funeral home dressed identical. We have a little teehee about it. Then we go in and sit down and a few minutes went by and we (as though choreographed) cross our legs at the same time and look like bookends and of course get tickled and try to contain ourselves. People are looking at us. Then we arrive at the cemetary and have to hang on to each other to walk across squishy grass in high heals to the grave side. We are still giddy and trying to supress our laughter. Then my sister says about one of our brothers, who is standing there in a dark suit and glasses with his hands clasped in front of him “He looks like Secret Service” I lost it. So trying to conseal my laughter I am cracking up, face first in both my hands. I’m sure people were thinking “She must have really loved him!” Then graveside service is over and we are clinging to each other to walk back out when my sister reaches down to staighten up a vase that is sitting crooked at one of the graves. She moves it and it starts to fall down in a vacant space below it. She starts out in a soft voice “Help me” louder “Help me” louder “Help me!” I grab on and this thing must weigh 70 lbs. It was pulling her down in the hole. She was so stunned by the weight of it she was afraid to let go of it because she didn’t know where it was going. We finally get it back up and in place. (Everyone is starring) We take what little dignity we have left and go get in our car, hide our faces and just loose it!!! That was the funniest funeral I ever attended.

  930. livingdedgrl Says:

I actually work at a funeral home, and I can tell countless stories! Not so much funny though. I guess what others consider “funny” I “may” consider annoying or rude. I have had several fights break out. One of them involved a woman in a wheel chair that went after her sister-n-law. Half of the family wanted the deceased to be cremated and the other half wanted burial (I get this ALOT, now take into account that cremation is less expensive) so the one part of the family comes in to make arrangements, the X-Wife and the daughter. They want cremation because they can’t afford a whole lot. Then we get a call from the other side of the family asking to come in to make arrangements for the same person. Well…..it put the funeral home in a bit of a pickle. So, we have the other side come in and they want a whole visitation with burial but they do not have enough money, and are asking if we can take payments can we cut them a deal, etc….We do not take payments and we do not cut deals, seriously, we get this all the time. We are a funeral home, we are a business and we have to to get paid for our services just like everyone else. The only problem is, people tend to think that we “have” to be more sympathetic to those in need, to be honest, we do not have to be more sympathetic, it costs what it cost. So, we tell this other side of the family, this is the woman in the wheel chair with the son of the deceased. First let me say that the son is deaf. So everything we say the woman in the wheel chair has to explain to him. he is getting more upset by the minute when we explain that the other side of the family has already come in. SO, we tell them that we can NOT be in the middle of the fued and what they MUST do before we will proceed any further is that both sides must come in together and work this out. The following day the decide that they will all meet at the funeral home at 1pm. Now, take into account that on that day we have a family who has their visitation going on. They all meet up and things “seem” to be going well enough…t h e n….all of the sudden the girl in the wheel chair and the daughter of the deceased start screaming at each other and it starts out in the hall way and the girl in the wheel chair somehow pushes the daughter into my office, she falls into me, and I am squished between her and my desk and my chair falls over and is up against one of my legs. Thank goodness the phone is right in front of me, which I pick up and dial 911. All the while the poor family that has their visitation going on are stunned at the ignorance and the fighting that is happening. My boss finally gets part of the family into the vestibule and the other part is still in the funeral home. They are begging us not to call the police, which I already did. The police tell the girl in the wheel chair that she is not allowed at the funeral home, not is the son, and if they do show up again, they will be arrested. For days after that, I received call after call from the wheelchair girl and the deaf brother ended up coming back up to the funeral home to beg me to let his father be cremated. I have no control over who is to be cremated or not. There were 3 children and 2 of them authorized the cremation and in the state in which I live it is majority rules for cremation.
The other story I have, which I will try to make short as possible, is an unfortunate one, but it was a young boy, 11 years old who was accidently killed. The mother and father of the boy were never married. The mother and her husband came in to make arrangements. She stated that her work would be doing a fundraiser to help pay and that the father would also be paying half, which he called and said he would. We told them the bill was due on such and such a day. Of course the mother and father could not get along, the mother showed up higher than a kite and the father did not show up at all because he did not want to fight with the mother, who stated if he did show up she was going to “get in his face”. She showed up with no money, said that our local news did an interview with her at her work and if we wanted she would call them to let them know we would not let her in until it was paid. (trying to threaten us). So people were coming in and out all evening to visit, but apparently the mother of the child would stand by the door and when she knew that certain people were friends of the father she would tell them they were not allowed in. Well, a friend of the father must have called him and told him what was going on, so he came up to the funeral home and asked her “nicely” what did she think she was doing. Well, guess what happened, yep, she started hitting him and yelling and screaming and other people were actually egging them on! We had to call the police and they told the mother if she did this again and they had to come back they would be arresting her. The father left so no other problems occured. So, right about closing time, the mother was in the chapel up naer the casket. As I was walking down the hall way, I glanced in the chapel (now keep in mind, the donated “some” of the childs organs, the mother “stated” on the NEWS that they donated his liver, kidneys, skin, and eyes. When the child was embalmed, he still had his eyes and both kidneys!!), so as I glanced in the room the mother was pushing on his eyes, so hard that fluid was coming out, and she was trying to open his mouth!!!! I could not believe my eyes!! no pun inteded. I went in there and told her that she cannot be doing that, what was she thinking? her response was that she would be in early the next day to make sure that he was re-touched and she wanted to check to make sure he looked ok! ! I then told her we were closing it was after 9pm and it was time to leave. As the other girl who works there was in the chapel moving the chairs the grandmother was up at the casket trying to look into his mouth as well! I have no idea why these two women were trying to do this or what woul possess them to do such a thing! The following day, for the next day of viewing, the father came in only for a few minutes to see his so, and of course they started to fight again. This time we caught it on time, and told them to both leave the building or we were going to call the police again, again, the father left, poor guy. Also, the mother never showed up early the next day to see if her son looked ok, after what she had done to him, in fact she did not show up until well past 5pm that day when viewing began at Noon. As a matter of fact the very first day of viewing that started at 5pm, the mother did not show up until 6:30p and made everyone who showed up to pay their respects wait, because we do not allow anyone to go into the chapel on the first day until the next of kin goes in first. Also, the fundraiser she had at work…..we NEVER saw a dime of that money. The father and his sister ended up paying for everything! I could go on and on. I will add that when attending a funeral, dress appropriatley. Now days you do not necessarily have to show up in suit and tie, but just something nice. I have seen it all, women show up with jean mini skirts and white tank tops with flip flops, men show up with old jeans and old dirty t-shirts. Oh, and if you have children that will be attending with you, please pay attention to what they are wearing, I had one girl who was about 14 who showed up in a red crushed velevet spaghetti strap ankle lenght dress with black platform shoes. Seriously. Younger girls, maybe in their late teens early twenties, we do not want to see you g-string peeking from the back of you low rider jeans or you see thru tops. Common sense people!

I just had to tell you all that my parents got to meet and have a beer with Alabama befor they hit it big and Randy gave them a pin that they put on there cowboy hats and they still have them. My parents say that they are really down to home good ol’boys, but of course we know that now do to the music that they sing.

A friend of mine had Sarah Evens play at there wedding too over in Glassgow in the early 90’s and I see her little sister play at Boonville at the boat alot or at least they use to.

Country music is the heart beat of country people and I think that is why country music touches so many on so many diffrent leavels.

My favorite part of the show was when he performed ‘Me And You’. It’s such a classic, and the song that turned me into a huge fan of his. Plus his vocals are still superb on it!! HE IS INCREDIBLY PHENOMENAL! Can’t wait until Indy in September

  950. Brittany Says:

I would like to thank all the women and men who have served and who are still serving this great nation of ours, at home and over seas. May the Lord be with you always. THANK YOU SO MUCH for keeping Monica’s picture and conversation on the Adopt A Soldier page!!!! I don’t get to hear her voice very often and it’s nice to go to that page and listen to her!!

PLEASE keep the Adopt A Soldier program active!!!!!!! Every soldier serving deserves to be remembered and it doesn’t cost that much to send a box of goodies! For the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, one of the things that they could use the most is unscented baby wipes. They are good for wiping the sweat and cooling the face. Temperatures there are already in the 100’s every day.

Even if you don’t know the soldier, it’s very easy to fill a shopping cart with items they are sure to like, such as: beef jerky, beef sticks and cheese, small bags of peanuts, breath mints, Cracker Jacks, gum, cheese or peanut butter crackers, Chex Mix, individual powered drink mix, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, hair ties and bobby pins, razors and of course, baby wipes.

Thanks again for everything you have done for the troops….don’t let them be forgotten! Keep up the good work!!!

  958. Ken Anderson Says:

My son Sgt. Phillip R. Anderson, was killed March 10, 2008 in Iraq.
I miss this young man terribly. The day that I was told of his death was the worse day of my life.
He was proud to be in the Army. When he left for this tour I had a very bad feeling that I would not see him again but I would support him still if he had that chance to go back.
I thank him and all those who gave their lives so we could live free.
My son Phillip said he felt like he was protecting me. He was protecting all of us.
    Thank you brave warriors,
    Hoorah.

  959. kim Says:

WAY TO GO KRIS!!!! I have to admit I was shocked when Ryan revealed the final results, but oh so happy. Kris was my favorite, too. I loved his duet with Keith Urban and can’t wait to buy his first CD. Kris has true talent! Don’t get me wrong Adam is awesome and I have no doubt that he will go on to greater things. He rocked with KISS last night. This was the best American Idol finale ever.

Hmm.. you know I haven’t tried to get it in JC, but I can tell you where I find it at in Columbia. The “Nice N Cheesy” Kroger brand is with the other Velveta blocks at Gerbes. Then, the Velveta kind, I find with all the other Velveta blocks in Wal-Mart. I’ve never seen either kind in the refrigerated sections. If I go to JC and find it, I’ll let you know where to go. Wow, cold chills from beginning to end. What a song.

  1002. Amy Says:

All of his songs are great but I love Amarillo By Morning because he is a Cowboy and did the Rodeo tour so he knows what he is talking about when he sings it!

  1003. Amy Says:

I am really sorry to hear you are not a Toby Keith supporter. However, Toby has been around for years, and I absolutely love him. I did not see the article he is referring to, but he is just making it known that he is tired of false stuff being reported. I understand he was cussing, but sometimes stuff is completely for publicity in the first place. Reporters are going to report what they can to sale stories, even if it is half true. Plus everyone knows Toby has the reputation of being a bad boy, and he caught smack for one of his Album names. However, if you buy Toby Keith albums, that is why you love him so much.

His albums are fun to listen to, and I don’t think he has sold a album I have not fell in love with EVERY single song.

  1004. Brittany Cope Says:

It would be awesome if i could go to this concert. i could only wish. i’ve never been to a concert, and i’ve always loved loud music. i also love dirks bently and brad paisley. i listen to brad paisley when im down. he lifts me back up!

On sale Friday, August 28th at 10am.

  1181. Aric Bremer Says:

I haven’t blogged in years…but it’s kind of like riding a bike really…you’ve got something to say…you say it…and try not to be too boring in the process.

Back in the summer of 2000 I saw Brooks and Dunn at the Missouri State Fair and it was the first concert I ever saw working for Clear 99…I still have the picture of me meeting Kix and Ronnie in my bar at home…TD and I used to joke that I had one too many beers and was so sunburned that it looked like Brooks and Dunn came to the fair to see me…not the other way around.

10 years…so many things have happened to me in 10 years I can’t believe Brooks and Dunn made it 20 years together. But they did…and tomorrow night their fans (probably) get one final chance to say THANKS for the memories.

I’ll pop into the Clear 99 tent to say hi to Scotty and Carissa sometime tomorrow afternoon…hope to catch up with some of you then. It’s been a blast being back on Clear and doing the Classic Clear Show with you on Saturday mornings.

In the meantime…as Brooks and Dunn would say…”It’s Beer Thirty…HonkyTonk Time!”

Tickets to see Jamey Johnson would be very special. His song “In Color” was a special song between my brother and his youngest son, who was killed this weekend. If I won tickets I’d give them to my brother.

  1187. Sandra Briggs Says:

I’ve not been to a concert since the Pointer Sisters invaded Alaska and made fun of the audience. I’d like to wipe away that memory and put a much, much better one in it’s place.

  1188. Kayla C. Says:

I too would like to know what the fastest way to get “good” tickets, meaning the 1st or 2nd row?? Jason Aldean is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE singer and it just so happens that Oct. 10 is my 25th birthday!! I’m kinda bummed about turning a quarter of a century old so I think I’m going to treat myself to Jason’s concert!! So if you could let me know the best way or the fastest way to get the good tickets, that would be awesome!! Thanks!!!

  1189. KW Says:

I’m FREAKING out! I don’t know what the “cue-to-call” is supposed to be, but heard when it is…Jason is my husband’s FAVORITE singer and I would LOVE to surprise him! AHH!!! This is so stressful :) But fun :)

  1190. Michelle Says:

I LOVE Jason Aldean too, and I would also like to know what the fastest way to get tickets would be? Should I start camping out tonight? HAHA! I really really really really want close CLOSE seats!!!!!

hey!! omg im soooooo excited for this concert you have no idea :P and october 10th is 2 days before my 16th bday!! id love to get good tickets but i dont always have internet access and i have school till 3:00 that day so…..can i get your advice on how to get awesome seats please?? thanks!! :D

  1192. Mary A Says:

Last Saturday, Kurt asked what I wanted for dinner. Leftovers was fine with me. He instead fixed a steak dinner, baked potato, salad and fresh fruit for dessert. He served this to me out by the pool, which was all lit up, we ate on the china plates, crystal wine glasses, place mats, cloth napkins and candles. When I sat down he put my napkin in my lap and had Elton John playing on the outdoor speakers. I think I’m gone keep him.

  1193. Wendy Says:

I love Taylor and I love seeing her crazy wild side. She is beautiful, even dressed up like KISS! Oh yeah, love you too Keith!

  1194. Wendy Says:

Oh Jamie, lighten up! What could be a better way to start a life together than by dancing? Looked to me like every person in that church was cheering and dancing along. Congrats to the newly weds!! I would have LOVED to have been at that reception!!

  1195. mike Says:

eventhought tickets are already on sale and all the good ones are gone. there was a presale password to get them. i used the password and got as close as anyone could with ga pit tickets.

  1196. mike Says:

the only way to get awesome seats now is to watch for people posting there tickets on craigslist of stubhub. but like i said dont expect a front row or second row etc. the closest is a ga pit.

I’ve never gotten the chance to see them but I’ve heard great things!!!

  1198. Robin Says:

    Hello,

Who is the suprise guest with Jason Aldean?

Robin – We still don’t know yet!

  1200. Jamie Mac Says:

I think it looks like a lot of fun, but just think it’s better suited for the reception versus the wedding. Though, it’s probably just because I can’t dance and I’m little jealous:)

  1201. Tracy E Says:

I just love the simple things. My boyfriend and I work at the same place and he will come up behind me at my desk, without me seeing him, and softly say I love you. My heart skips, my breathe gets taken away, and I fall more in love with him every time.

  1202. instant cash loan Says:

OMG!!! I Love this!!! It’s so cuteee!! The idea was awesome!! Very Happy and everybody dancing!! Love It!!

  1203. Derek Nolke Says:

I wish you guys would give some love to the opening band LUCERO. Check out there music at luceromusic.com and click on media to listen. I like CCR but the real reason I’m going is to listen to my favorite band, LUCERO. All I ask is to show some love to the opener because usually they are the headliners.

  1204. Teresa Says:

Her record label didn’t want the single to be released until September 8th. Looks like someone messed up. Oh well, we’re playing it now on Clear 99. What do you think of it?

  1205. Lois Says:

My 19-year old son turned me on to Jamey Johnson — a great “entertainer”, not just a singer! Hoping to see him at the Note!

  1206. Lois Says:

The big green tractor that has taken off so great is a true “deja vu” for my younger years and I really crank up the song when I play it or hear it! His concert is the day after my birthday!

  1207. Zach Says:
