Joey. Like a baby kangaroo. Somewhat less adorable.
Joey is Minnesotan by birth, Missourian by the grace of God. He got his first taste of the Show Me State playing in a national baseball tournament in KC and a family vacation to Branson. Apparently Missouri made a good impression. His dream of moving back and being a Tiger came true at the University of Missouri. Joey is definitely Mizzou made.
It wasn’t until his Dad got a Garth Brooks and a Mary Chapin Carpenter tape that he got hooked country. He’d say his first three day country fest sure didn’t hurt either. He still goes up to WEFest in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota every year.
Knowing he lacks in singing and guitar talent, he turned to country radio. His first job was at a little country station in Norfolk, Nebraska, KQKX. From there, there was no turning back. He set his sights on a homecoming to Columbia and here he is.
If he’s not playing one of his favorite sports, he’s probably watching one of his favorite team the Missouri Tigers.
