Thomas Rhett says his latest single, “Marry Me,” could have easily been his story.
“’Marry Me’ I think is going to be the song on the record that so many people are going to be like, ‘What is this?,’ ‘Why would he even talk about this?’ But what I think is really cool about this song is that it really does pertain to mine and Lauren’s story because before we got married, I dated a girl for like five years that I thought I was going to marry. She dated a guy like five years that she thought she was going to marry. And that song is basically about me being the narrator and being like, ‘What would my life have been like if I had never gone over to her house and told her how I felt about her?’”
Luke Bryan is a new face on the American Idol judging panel and plans to judge the contestants “like a fan of music.” He said, “I’m in there on the emotional ride with these kids. When they start singing and they are moving me emotionally, I get wrapped up in the moment. I get wrapped up in the pageantry and the dreams coming true.” The new season of Idol premieres March 11.
