Cancer Sucks. Smoothie King has concocted a way to help.
I’ve recently talked about my new found addiction that is Smoothie King.
Now, there’s even more reason to love this blended-drink giant. Not only do the smoothies taste great (the Banana Boat with chocolate (and sometimes peanut butter) is my personal fav.) but the company has created a new blend for a great cause.
Smoothie King and the American Cancer Society have joined forces and created the first meal replacement smoothie with essential vitamins that is specifically designed to help cancer patients maintain or increase body weight during their treatment.
As part of their line of Wellness Blends, the “Daily Warrior” blend includes bananas, almonds, spinach and blueberries. A 20oz beverage is around 660 calories, and sticks to all American Cancer Society nutritional guidelines.
That’s deliciously awesome!
Smoothie King has a point based reward system app that can help out your pocket book and earn yourself free smoothies; but if you want to try it at home, the recipe for the “Daily Warrior” can be found below:
Blend together 1 whole banana, ½ cup blueberries, ¼ cup apple juice, 2 pitted dates, ¼ cup peanut butter, 2 Tbsp almonds, 1 Tbsp honey (or preferred sweetener), ¼ cup frozen spinach and ½ cup ice. Blend until smooth. Serves 1.
