Abby Dittmer I Virtual Fair

With so many local fairs being canceled this year we thought it would be good to feature the projects local FFA and 4-H members have been working so hard on all year.

Abby Dittmer- “I will be a senior at Morgan County R-1. This is my market steer Po. I bought him last October and have been working with him ever since. In the last two months, I work a minimum of four hours a day work my show cattle and often times more getting them to show-ready. We have won Maintainer Breed championship at the Missouri Cattlemen Livestock show, Reserved overall market steer at the FFA central district show, Grand Champion overall steer at the Morgan County fair, Reserved overall Champion market steer at the Pettis County fair, and recently placed first in class and was in the championship drive at the Marshall open show. We will also be competing at the Missouri state fair. Along with all his awards, I have won 3 senior cattle showmanship awards. Not only do I work with my cattle, but I have also helped a few younger kids with their cattle projects as well which gives me a great feeling to see the younger generation get started.”

“This is my heifer Brown Sugar. I bought her back in October and have been working with her ever since. I have just recently AI’d her in hopes of getting a show animal. Our first show was the Missouri cattlemen livestock show. She acted out a little but we made it through without incident. She was Charlois Champion at the Central District FFA show, won Overall Female Champion at the Morgan County fair, Charlois Champion at the Pettis County fair, and placed first in class at the Marshall open show. Our next show will be at the Missouri State Fair.”
