Abby Holsten I Virtual Fair

With so many local fairs being canceled this year we thought it would be good to feature the projects local FFA and 4-H members have been working so hard on all year.

Hello, I am Abby Holsten. This is my 2nd year in 4-H and I am a member of the Kountry Kids 4-H Club in Stover. My projects this year included bacon, ham, woodworking, arts and crafts, photography, and beef. I had 3 projects selected to be featured at the State Fair. (A bench, a photograph, and a wreath.)

My favorite project was my beef project. This was my first year in this project. This year I showed my balancer steer, Denver and Samson. I showed them both at the Junior Cattleman´s Show and the Morgan County Fair. I also showed Samson at the Henry County Fair. I loved learning to take care of the steer and leading them was my favorite part. Denver ended up weighing over 1500 pounds and Samson was around 1200. Denver won Reserve in his class at the Junior Cattleman´s show and best in his weight at the Morgan County Fair. Samson won 4th at the Henry County Fair. I really loved all of my projects but am most excited to start next year´s beef project.
