As heard on Clear Country Night’s; Samantha’s “Artist of the Week” is Tenille Townes
They say Nashville is a “Ten Year Town”; meaning, of course, it takes at least ten years to have a real breakthrough, being an artist.
Well, Canadian singer/songwriter, Tenille Townes, is having none of that.
Hailing from rural Grande Prarie, Alberta; a place where Tenille says, “Country music is a huge part of the identity of the people…” she decided that that included her, and in 2013 packed up her Toyota Tacoma and made the 45-hour journey from Canada to Nashville to pursue her dreams. The 24-year-old has since signed to a major Nashville label and Big Yellow Dog Music publishing in 2017.
Townes just played in Vegas for ACM Award parties as well as compleating her first SXSW festival this Spring. She is expected to join Devin Dawson on the road for select dates this year and has also been tapped by Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town for “The Bandwagon Tour” this summer.
Most recently, she has released a four track EP, “Living Room Worktapes” and is working on her LP.
