The newest, weirdest food trend: corn ribs. The hashtag #cornribs has gone viral on TikTok, with more than 10.6 million views.
The trend involves slicing whole cobs of corn into vertical sections, dressing it with a seasoned sauce or spread, and cooking it much like you would pork or beef ribs. When heated, the sliced corn pieces also curl into a shape similar to a meat-based rib.
Feel Good Foodie founder Yumna Jawad says to get the best “curled effect” she recommends cutting cobs of corn into quarters. She also recommends using a santoku knife to do so, and topping the corn ribs with a mixture of salted butter and fresh cilantro before air frying them for ten minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
