If you don’t know if you can keep a new years resolution.. just take a look at Brantley Gilbert‘s life.
Brantley is celebrating his sixth year being sober, and when it comes to setting goals, he says he takes it one day at a time.
“With what I do for a living, everything’s so run and gun and it’s so last minute all the time. I feel like you schedule what you can, but for my life, even the last six years not drinking, it’s been a day to day thing. I set short-term goals… That quittin’ smokin’ thing is coming soon, but I don’t think it’d last if it was just a New Year’s resolution. If I come up with it in my mind, ‘Hey, this is what I need to do with my life and it needs to happen now,’ then I’ll set up my own little timing and execute it and stay away from it.”
Dolly Parton will be honored at the next Music-Cares Person of the Year Gala. Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, Katy Perry, Vince Gill and Willie Nelson will be there to honor Dolly.
Dolly is the first member of the Nashville music community to earn this honor. The Gala will take place February 8 in Los Angeles.
