The country star left Music City after a very short period of time.
When Miranda Lambert was sixteen, she got a recording session in Nashville, so she made the big move. However, when she arrived, she was given a set of pop songs to record but she didn’t want to. She said that she couldn’t relate to the lyrics and they didn’t describe what she wanted to say.
The singer made it clear she wanted to be authentic in her songs, so she left the city. After she moved back home, her dad taught her how to write and he made sure she knew the importance of having her own voice in the world.
To this day, Lambert only records songs she can relate to.
