Please consider fostering a pet. The U.S. declared a state of emergency due to COVID-19 concerns, and animal shelters across the states (including MO) really need your help!
Stephanie (Central Missouri Humane Society‘s animal care manager) usually visits our studio with an adoptable pet we share with the rest of Mid-Missouri, but amid health concerns, that was not possible this week.
Instead, Stephanie took us on a tour of the current shelter pets that need adoption. She informed us that right now the shelter really needs FOSTER parents in case they’re hit with staffing shortages as employees and volunteers get sick and need to stay home. This would mean they would not be able to care for all of the animals in the shelter, including those that will continue to come in during the coming months.

Some shelters have already had to close to the public and cancel events, meaning fewer pets are being adopted out. As a result, the shelters are trying to move as many animals as possible off their premises and into foster homes.
Please consider taking a pet into your home in case the CMHS staff become unable to care for all of their animals!
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for considering fostering (or adopting!) a pet. They need our love.
