Another “Church Lady Cookbook Recipe”.
It was a every Church dinner when I was growing up, but I don’t hear it talked about anymore. We had a great discussion on the air about it, and many similar variations, on morning.
One thing about these older recipes, sometimes the measurements aren’t there. Or like this one, it says “half a carton…”. 😄 It also says “chopped cherries”, but I just cut the bigger ones in half.

For the sour cream I used about 8 ounces, and for the coconut I used about half of a 14oz. bag.

There were lots of things online that talked about how over the years this dish became known as a “popular dish during the holidays in the South”. But it’s so light and refreshing, it feels like a summer cookout dish to me!
As always, if you try it let me know! – scotty
