Liz

When I was about 13, I quickly realized my childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian was not going to work out when I almost threw up during a science class dissection. The next logical career choice I had was to somehow get involved in the entertainment industry. Every morning I would turn on my local country radio station and quickly fell in love with the personalities behind the mic. My new dream was born.

I was born in Nashville, Tennessee (you might hear me say ya’ll once in a while), but I mostly grew up in St. Louis. To this day, I am horrible with directions and barely know my right from my left. I still question how I was able to get around a major metropolitan city. Directionally, Columbia is much more manageable. It’s also where my mom was born and raised! I’ve been in Mid-Missouri for the past few years and it now has a huge place in my heart!

There are three major loves in my life: mermaids, corgis and Rascal Flatts. I have always wanted to become a mermaid and I don’t think I will ever give up on the dream of sprouting a tail. One of the best moments of my life was graduating from a mermaid academy in Florida. Aside from being the cutest dogs on the planet, corgis are also the sassiest. I have two stumpy-legged children, Nellie and Dasher, and they are the lights of my life. I am forewarning you, if you ask me about them you might be stuck for hours listening to me brag about my fur-babies. Finally, I am one major Flatt Head! There’s just something about Gary, Joe Don and Jay that is truly special to me. At the top of my bucket list is meeting the band…a girl can only dream!

Words can not describe how excited I am to be on Clear 99 and wake up with you every single morning. Like so many others, country music feels like home to me and I can’t wait to be a part of this special family! This truly is a dream come true!

I’m a Missouri boy, born, bred & lifelong. (If you don’t count 4 or 5 wayward years in Southern Illinois.)

I started working at a hometown radio station in Cape Girardeau while I was in high school, and have managed to avoid getting a real job ever since.  I’ve worked at Clear 99 for a long time, and been with Zimmer Radio even longer.  I joke about it making me feel old, but I’m to the very gratifying point in my career that I now meet people who listened to me in the car with their parents, and now they listen in the car with their kids.  I can’t think of a better compliment.

Outside of work I spend a lot of time on a bicycle, on the beautiful trails and country roads of Missouri.  As is inevitable at my age (50-ish), my health has become more of a focus for me.  You won’t have to listen long to hear me trying to convince others about the benefits of a good bike ride.

The life of Jerry Seinfeld has fascinated me for several years, James Bond has fascinated me for several decades, and I am an unapologetic fan of the animated shows of Seth MacFarlane. (Family Guy, American Dad & The Cleveland Show)  If I had kids I’m not sure I’d let them watch, but I love them!

I believe that there is a God in Heaven that created this world and everything in it.  In his wisdom he has chosen to bless me with a life that I nowhere near deserve, and I don’t thank him enough.  But he has given me the tools to do this job, in this place, at this time, and that makes me a happy man.
