She made it to Hollywood on season 4 of American Idol.
(You might remember that season’s winner, some girl from Oklahoma named Carrie.)
She was Sarah Mather back then. She grew up in Canada and North Carolina, spent time in New York City, but is now based in Nashville.
She’s had some success as a songwriter, getting “cuts” by Runaway June and Tegan Marie, among others. She’s had “holds” (songs that artists are interested in recording and releasing) by Reba McEntire and Jennifer Nettles.
She has just released a new album, “If Whiskey Was A Woman”.
