“God of Chaos” Asteroid To Pass By Earth Tomorrow

The “God of Chaos” will be passing by Earth tomorrow. The asteroid Apophis, nicknamed “God of Chaos” after the Egyptian deity, will fly past Earth around 8:15pm ET, traveling at a distance of nearly 10-million miles away.

The asteroid, first discovered in 2004, will pass by Earth and then go around the sun. And while it won’t get close enough to hit the Earth, it’s believed that the Earth’s gravity is strong enough to scatter boulders or even stretch the rock.

If you want to see the asteroid for yourself, and you don’t have a telescope, you’re in luck – there’s a live feed happening HERE. If you miss it this time around, the “God of Chaos’” next visit to earth is due in April 2029.
