Keith Urban Is Hosting This Year’s ACM Awards, With A Co-Host

The 56th Academy of Country Music Awards will have a familiar face as host along with a first timer. Last year’s ACM host, Keith Urban, will be joined this year by Mickey Guyton, making her the first-ever Black woman to host the ACMs.

Keith actually called Mickey to ask if she would be interested in co-hosting. This is how it went.

Keith has won 15 ACM Awards in his career and is nominated for two more this year; for his collaboration with Pink on the hit “One Too Many” as the Music Event of the Year and as the song’s producer. He’s also nominated in the same category for his appearance on Thomas Rhett’s “Be A Light.” Mickey is nominated for New Female Artist of the Year for the second time.

The 56th ACM awards will air Sunday, April 18th on CBS live from Nashville.
