Lauren Alaina Opens Up About The Mental Trauma Of Dating An “Addict”

Lauren Alaina is getting real on social media. In connection with May being Mental Health Awareness Month, Lauren posted a four-page note on social media where she opened up about dealing with the mental trauma of dating an “addict.”

“I have been spending a lot of time in the last few weeks praying, thinking and hoping for the right words to come out,” she shared. “I want to use my platform as a light in the world to help myself and others to love themselves fully and love others fully.”  Lauren then explains ithat she “went through a personal experience that truly stopped [her] in [her] tracks. It was very public, and it was very hurtful.”

“Being in a relationship with an addict is scary, deceitful and hard to manage,” she writes, noting that she knows she’s not alone. “I am posting this for us. I want you to know that I believe you. I see you. I pray for you. I know what you went through. I went through it too.”

Lauren didn’t name names in the post although some are speculating she’s referring to her relationship with Christian comedian John Crist. It ended in 2019 after he was accused of harassment, using his celebrity status to gain sexual favors from women, and more. At the time he admitted to dealing with “addiction struggles.”
